  1. You think that'll help them win the game? That's no different than fans booing Springer when he was down last night.
  2. I agree that Hoffman has been better recently and Little has been shaky. I think Little has been shaky from the amount of wear and tear this year. They were hoping his arm would bounce back after 4 days off I believe. The problem with scrutinizing these decisions as a fan is the fact that we don't have all the information. Maybe Hoffman didn't feel right yesterday. They're not going to come out and tell the opposition that he's down. We just don't know.
  3. I'm not usually one to dig into the stats pages as I normally have better things to do and prefer to watch the games with my eyes but I couldn't resist today. Here are some 2025 numbers. Hoffman - .805 OPS vs lefties Dominguez - .816 OPS vs lefties Little - .592 OPS vs righties .601 OPS vs lefties Raleigh, Polanco and Naylor to begin the 8th last night. 3 dangerous lefties in a row. Would you want Dominguez or Hoffman to face them with those numbers or flip the first 2 to the right side and have Little face them? It's the easiest thing to say "I told you so" after the fact when something doesn't work out (Joe Siddall are you listening?) anyone can do that. Not so easy to make tough decisions in the heat of a baseball game. The home run Raleigh hit was a glorified pop-up. It could just as easily been caught by Straw and things might have turned out differently. It's luck, it's baseball, that's the way it goes sometimes. The Jays aren't even in this position if it weren't for Little taking the ball (and being extremely nasty) more than any other reliever in the league this year. As for John Schneider, put yourself in those shoes for a day and have all your decisions scrutinized the the nth degree, and have an entire country want to rip off your head when it doesn't work out. Have some empathy for these people. They're trying to bring us a championship and taking years off their life in the process. Schneider has his players backs and they have his. It's what got them this far and it's what will allow them to win the next 2 games.
  4. Exactly. All these guys with their BS on these threads every time something goes wrong like they could do better. I'd like to see them try to manage an MLB team in the playoffs. They'd all piss their pants and melt into the puddle by the 1st inning.
  5. Name calling is what people resort to when they lose an argument.
  6. It's the armchair managers that think they know everything that are brain dead. It's like you've never watched a baseball game before.
  7. Hoffman is the closer. He had the 9th. Dominguez gave up the hit batter and grand slam that cost them the game. Fisher is a rookie with a backup breaking ball that's been doing things with smoke and mirrors and looked shaky lately. Bassitt and Lauer are long men neither of which has ever seen a high leverage late game bullpen outing. Any more bright ideas?
  8. You have no idea. Exactly what I thought. When they fire John Schneider (which won't happen) do me a favor and apply for the job.
  9. The offense blew game 1 in case you weren't watching. They got 2 hits.
  10. He led the league in appearances and gave up 2 homers.
  11. His career #'s don't mean s**t. He was a different pitcher this year. He led the league with 79 appearances and gave up 2 homers!
  12. Who should he have used. Dominguez? The guy who gave up the slam that cost them the game? Hoffman? Who was going to close? You're the one with the little league brain apparently.
  13. You got it exactly right. They didn't like Dominguez vs lefties. That's all there was to it. It just didn't work out.
  14. Little literally pitched his arm off for this team this year. He took the ball 79 times during the regular season. That's nearly ½ the Jays games for those of you who can't do simple math. During that time he gave up a staggering 2 homers! If his numbers were bad of late it's because he was a bit gassed. They stayed away from him the last few games to rest him for a big situation I would imagine. The homer he gave up was to a guy that hit 60 bombs this year. And it wasn't much more than a fly ball, it almost hit the roof. After that can you blame him for being a little wild? I'd like to see all the armchair managers here handle that kind of pressure. Schneider went to the leverage guys he had left to pitch the 8th. Hoffman had the 9th. He used Little because he doesn't give up homers. It just didn't work out today. S**t happens. It's baseball.
  15. STFU!! The crowd deserves to be criticized for booing Springer while he was down.
  16. All these people calling for firing the manager. Lol. Yeah let's fire the manager (who's up for manager of the year) in the middle of the ALCS. All the same people who were wanting Hoffman DFA'd earlier this year now wanted him to pitch instead of the guys who gave it up tonight. Hoffman was pitching the 9th. You know? The 9th inning, the job of the closer. A good manager trusts his guys. It just didn't work out tonight. S**t happens. It's baseball.
  17. The armchair managers are sure putting on a great performance tonight. I'd swear you morons have never watched a ball game in your life. Bunch of bandwagoners!!
  18. Wow!! What a nail biter!! I'm gritting my teeth harder than Kirky right now. Lol.
