  1. I agree 100% The wild card series is a best of three Division is a best of five format then League championship and World Series a best of 7 Still a long ways to go but before the deadline, make a bold move by expecting the worse, just making it to the Wild Card series at a minimum. that being said, an Ace who can without a doubt gives this team the higher chance to WIn game 1 is a MUST. Scherzer can be that guy but his health from here on out is like walking on eggshells. they need that no.1 guy to bump down the rotation. 1. “Ace” 2. Scherzer 3. Bassitt then pick one of Gausman, Berrios and maybe Lauer but first things first, win the Wild Card series at a minimum or Division Series as the better outcome to end the regular season
  2. We all just hope the defensive game may wake up his offense power. Jays are stuck with him now Patience is all they can do. Thank the bball gods that David Popkins had significant effect on the other hitters and their approach with RISP, it’s all on VGJ now.
  3. Why Matt Chapman is such a frustrating player. hangs around the fringes of a mediocre offensive player
  4. For what’s its worth….AI explained reasons of why batters are prone to hitting ground balls… Swinging Down: Instead of matching the pitch's downward angle, some hitters swing down on the ball, causing it to hit the top of the ball and create backspin, leading to ground balls. Early Extension/Coming Out of the Swing: A hitter might extend their arms too early, or come up out of their swing, which can cause them to hit the top of the ball and produce ground balls. Improper Bat Path: A bat path that isn't on the same plane as the pitch, or that comes off the plane too early, can lead to hitting the top of the ball and generating ground balls. Bat Coming Off Plane Too Quickly: The bat needs to stay on the same plane as the pitch for a longer period to maximize contact and backspin. If it comes off too quickly, it can cause the hitter to hit the top of the ball, resulting in a ground ball. Timing Issues: Being late or early on the pitch can also lead to ground balls. If the hitter is too early, the bat will continue to move towards the pitcher after contact, causing the wrists to roll over and hit the top of the ball. Lack of Extension: Failing to get full extension through the swing can result in hitting the ball with the barrel of the bat rolling over, leading to ground balls. Not Staying Connected: Keeping the hands and body connected through the swing is important. If the hands get away from the body too early, it can cause the bat to come around the ball, leading to ground balls. Lack of Strength/Athleticism: Younger or weaker hitters may struggle to generate the power needed to lift the ball, leading to more ground balls. Lack of a Good Approach: Not having a plan at the plate, such as trying to hit the ball to a specific part of the field, can also contribute to hitting more ground balls.
  5. Bassitt has proven that he can be the no.2 pitcher of this rotation behind a “healthy” Scherzer* if the Jays are post season contenders however adding the asterisk after that name of Scherzer can be legitimately life and death for the Jays survival come playoffs. they need another big time name who is a proven and tested playoff pitcher who won’t wither under the bright lights and can be the Ace. zero confidence in Gausman and Berrios both weak minded individuals
  6. As I said it many times both Berrios and Gausman have mental fragility. No.3/4 pitcher at best in a team with deep playoff aspirations they both don’t have the “IT factor to be an Ace”
  7. Personally, I don’t mind the Jays taking a flyer on the newly DFA’d NY Yankee DJ LeMahieu maybe he can provide some dugout insider information haha. seriously, maybe a change of scenery with less pressure is what he need
  8. I am not personally worried of Vladdy’s overall contribution to this team’s success. I think the HRs is why people are frustrated. Have they looked at his batting stance? Are his arms too high above his back shoulders that can create tension and making loading difficult? Maybe that is the real reason of the high frequency of ground balls.
  9. With the emergence of Barger who we all hope is not just a hot streak but more of a major step up to his development plus Clement who can slide in to assume part time 3rd base role, maybe the Jays may no longer need that added offensive boost. what they need now is a no.1 or no.2 pitcher who can be the Ace with a mental strength when it matters most (playoffs) under the bright lights. thank the baseball gods that we buried the stench of Guillermo. Popkins contribution to this team cannot be underestimated. but the low hanging fruit IMO is Schneider, most I am sure have lack or zero confidence that he can be the manager to a team with deep playoff aspirations.
  10. He has this kind of aura that he seem to have all the answers to everything but in reality, he is at best a mediocre manager who should not be leading a team in the post season
  11. John Schneider continue to amaze all of us how he still is managing this team. amateurish
  12. John Schneider continue to amaze all of us how he still is managing this team. amateurish
  13. John Schneider continue to amaze all of us how he still is managing this team. amateurish
  14. They canned their former hitting coach Guillermo Martinez because that idiot was pure garbage yet they carried their current mediocre Manager Schneider if this organization and Atkins are really serious to make a noise in the post season, they have to rid of John Schneider - epitome of an amateur skipper or they can just fire Ross with him
  15. Both Berrios and Gausman are weak minded pitchers. No. 3 or No.4 pitchers in most playoff contending teams No way Have the mental strength to be an Ace who can anchor a team deep in the post season. they have “old man” Scherzer so I guess Jays will have to roll the dice if he can stay healthy
  16. Gausman is a psychologically weak minded player. jellyfish brain to close out a series
  17. Swanson gone. The guy who we trade Teo for. Atkins will always be judged by history as one of the moronic executive of the Jays for more than a decade.
  18. I have been and many others were hoping but Better fcg late than never, a long time coming this offseason for Atkins relieving Guillermo Martinez of his hitting coach duties and replaced him by this new guy David Popkins. Watching pure garbage Martinez in the dugout and his punchable no reaction face after a GIDP or team not scoring with RISP for the fcg longest time. Unreal. hopefully we have a way better person and so far so good.
  19. Yarbrough just doing fine with the Yankees. Atkins will always be a Moron
