  1. Teo is all the way back. I still get amazed at the power he has.
  2. After a game like this, I hope we’ll see the difference in what a manager can do for the headspace of the team. These seem like spots that Charlie was weak in in terms of leadership.
  3. I think we need to give him more than two games. At least we've discovered Banda is definitively not an MLB pitcher. His stuff isn't even fixable it's just not good, at all.
  4. I truly believe that Ross has still placed the utmost importance on adding a good lefty hitter. We know the pen needs help and a depth starter is required but he has been talking about a lefty since the off-season. There will be moves and I'd imagine at least one significant one - but I'm not sure if it's the move we're all expecting.
  5. I would suspect the advantage is mitigated by being unable to target players that aren't vaccinated. Now whether anyone that fits that profile that Ross is looking for is willing to change their philosophy, like Whit Merrifield, remains to be seen which kind of also makes the anti-vaxx stance for him a bit of a paper tiger.
  6. Teoscar's power is outrageous. How he hit that pitch that hard, I'll never know
  7. Nice to see Yankees pitching still coming back down to earth. I mean the numbers coming out of that rotation appeared wholly unsustainable.
  8. That’s an overall decent article for quantifiable measures. The human element is probably more of a factor here. If a good guy, players coach who gets the team’s spirits up by being one of the guys suddenly loses that lustre, how do we measure that impact? Certainly seems important.
  9. Wow. I guess John Schneider will finish out the season?
  10. The best thing about the Yankees pitching? It’s starting to finally come back down to earth.
  11. He gives up 2-3 runs on average in his career over 6IP consistently. There aren’t many 3 SP that can boast that. I do get the ALE argument when we’re watching the Rays seem to pull aces out of their ass every two months and with the Yankees rotation this season. But there are probably five to seven teams in all of baseball who have as good a pitcher as Berrios in the 3 spot. And maybe four of those that have better when fully healthy. Obviously the numbers this season don’t agree but I’m thinking those poor starts were outliers for Berrios.
  12. Statistically he’s a very good 3SP borderline 2 SP in his career. Six/18 poor quality starts doesn’t change that.
  13. Maybe I got the sides of the plate mixed up but I could swear he moved to third base inside this season.
  14. I missed all that nonsense but to comment on how it should have been handled: While Vlad has a right to be frustrated they still have to look and if they think something is awry they’re going to challenge it. Team has been top 10 in successful challenges this season, it’s a management call not a player’s. the player cannot be bigger than the team. I’d have no qualms with them meting out some sort of internal disciplinary action and if that’s a game on the bench then so be it.
  15. 4ER, twice the amount he’d given up all season. And they booed him off the mound. Yankees fans eh
  16. His fastball wasn’t working for him earlier so he switched to mostly breaking stuff. Berrios has made his career from his breaking pitches tunneling off his fastball. When his breaking stuff flattens out with non-effective velocity to turn to, you get those six ghoulish starts. Last night and even the game before he’s seemed to get the quality back in that fastball and his breaking stuff was dancing. With a free swinging, not very good contact team in the Phillies you get a K performance like last night where his FIP was 1.05 I believe. Those who like to speculate suggested him moving back to the middle of the pitching mound helped cure whatever was ailing him. By the way me answering your question isn’t to imply “I’m smarter than you”, just providing insight on what I’ve seen with Berrios this season.
  17. Lourdes' adjustments have made him a better hitter overall even if he's given up some power for it.
  18. 96 with movement but more importantly, all of his pitches are dancing so far.
  19. The right move for Moreno. Glad to have Jano back! Stay healthy man.
  20. Tony La Russia decided to let Martin pitch to Ramirez with a man on second and two outs. The first pitch was a fouled off strike. The second pitch didn’t happen because Tony changed his mind and IBB’d him. It ended up working in his favour this time
  21. It appears as though I missed out on it being a parody? Not the first time and likely won’t be the last lol
  22. Good Blue Jays talk is hard to come by. I’ve found some decent podcasts but mostly just on the history of baseball. Not sure if there are any Jays podcasts I might be missing out on.
  23. We live in mostly different times now. I have no problem with a manager having it out with a player behind closed doors but like punching a guy in the face because he’s not playing well is not really a thing.
