Yea, basically the one thing i’d give this FO an A+ for is focusing on health in pitcher signings. The problem is we aren’t that smart in great division with two extremely smart teams and two rich teams that are rarely down for long. We naturally slot in to being the 5th best team once bo and vlad become expensive and we need cheap talent to still stay good.

I would fire Atkins because we have an above average - good front office in a division that needs a great one to be competitive over long windows. The one caveat i’d have is it is too late. I would have dumped him once it became apparent that we can’t develop pitching the way elite teams do. Click is right there though, although there might be more attractive jobs out there. I would be willing to talk to Bloom as well. At this point i’d also be willing to just let Atkins have it for the 1/2 years before the next rebuild and then dump him.

There’s a block function. If you have a problem with hearing a very true thing about our front office, then go ahead and block me. I just ignore the smootbrains complaining about bullpen management because when i said it was repetitive and stupid before i was told people can say whatever they want in the game threads. I look forward to you policing people complaining about the manager though when that starts heating up shortly.

None of the thread police ever says s*** when some smoothbrain complains about bullpen usage for the 800 millionth time and then scurries off to start a new fire the manager thread. The rules are that you must not criticize the front office but you can criticize the manager for the most dumb s*** ever. If you follow those rules you will be fine.

In terms of the farm this is pretty much correct. The whole sustainable winner thing was obvious bs and i think AA would have been better at trades.

This s*** is good enough in the central maybe but its not good enough in this division. Either way we will get a new FO in 2/3 years so something to look forward to.

Shapiro has done f*** all that has actually shown on the field. We spend a ton of money, have a crap system and are good at pretty much nothing on the dev side. He hired Atkins and he f***ed up in doing so.
