  1. I don't know if it's accurate but I read that if he's not put on the 40 man roster White is a minor league free agent this offseason
  2. Can't QO a player traded mid season
  3. Macko's got quite the start going. 5 IP, 2 hits, 0 BB, 0 runs, 11 K's
  4. Especially since he was one of the underslot guys to get savings for Toman and Barriera. I don't think he was way underslot but ranked somewhere late 100's for a 3rd rounder. He's been the best of the 2022 bunch so far. Management seems pretty good at targetting the right underslot guys, the overslot guys have been a different story though.
  5. I think the reported figure was 2500 under slot which was likely the 2500 trick that teams use that I don't really understand but there were a few guys the Jays signed that were reported 2500 below a nice even number or slot(O'Halloran 337,500, Bohrofen and Goodwin 2500 underslot, Barry 147,500, Mollerus 47,500, Shaw 282,500). It was likely exactly slot with 2500 technically not counting because of this weird rule.
  6. 5 HR in 5 games. It's absolutely silly that Jace fell to the 6th round and borderline insane that he only managed slot money in the 6th round. He might be our 6th best prospect right now and I don't think it'll be long before he's well above that too.
  7. Trent Palmer is pitching for the FCL Jays today. I believe he had Tommy John last summer. I didn't anticipate him back this soon
  8. MLB.com has updated their list as well 1. Tiedemann 2. Orelvis 3. Nimmala 4. Barriera 5. Barger 6. Jimenez 7. Roden 8. Maroudis 9. Watts-Brown 10. Zulueta 11. Santos 12. Kasevich 13. Schneider 14. Dallas 15. Toman 16. Doughty 17. Horwitz 18. Rojas 19. Palmegiani 20. De Jesus 21. Bohrofen 22. Juenger 23. Macko 24. Cooke 25. Bonilla 26. Pinto 27. G.Martinez 28. Fluharty 29. Beltre 30. Dasan Brown
  9. No Macko or Bonilla surprises me. Macko has been underwhelming but he's almost doubled his career high in innings and been BABIP'd a bit. I thought around 20-25 might be the floor of his drop not off the list entirely. From Shi's article yesterday it seemed like the Jays were pleased with Macko's progress and weren't so worried about the statistical results. Bonilla hasn't wow'd in his debut, but a mid 700's OPS surely doesn't wear all the shine off a 4 million signing bonus. Where did the have him in the preseason? Obviously never going to agree with any list perfectly. But some minor other things that surprised me. Wasn't expecting Harrison on the list, nor Palmegiani that high. Juenger's been getting absolutely smoked in Buffalo this year. Surprises he's at 14. Happy Cooke is getting the love he deserves. Toman's been underwhelming but I didn't think he'd drop that far. I like Doughty and Bohrofen more than this as well. Thought Dominguez might sneak on the lower half of the list. Glad Perry snuck in at the end. The Trio of him, Gallagher, and Stanifer from after the 10th round in last years draft intrigue me
  10. Bohrofen and Barry finally promoted to Dunedin. Them splitting DH duties in the FCL was odd. Bohrofen hit a HR in his first at bat. Goodwin got one as well
  11. Wut? There's literally a graphic put onto the broadcast around what he's saying. At minimum that means someone made the graphic and the person responsible for what makes air approved it. More than likely a whole bunch of more people involved in what is a completely normal thing to put on air. But the broadcaster gets suspended for it? That makes no sense
  12. In 3 games Davis Schneider has as much fWAR as Vladdy, Varsho, Espinal, Biggio, and De Jong have combined for the Jays this season. 15 PA and 0.6 fWAR 1266 PA and 0.6 fWAR
  13. If you tell your pitcher "We all know the umpire is f***ing terrible at his job but ignore it and continue attacking the zone" is that grounds for an ejection? It's just helpful advice, you're not arguing balls and strikes.
  14. Orelvis hit a HR in his 2nd at bat with Buffalo
  15. Assuming everyone else gets signed what does out prospect ranking look like? 1. Tiedemann 2. O.Martinez 3. Barriera 4. Nimmala ------------------------ 5. Barger 6. Toman 7. Robberse 8. Bonilla 9. Maroudis ------------------------ 10. Zulueta 11. Macko 12. Doughty 13. Jimenez 14. Bohefren 15. Kasevich 16. JWB 17. Pinto 18. Schneider 19. Roden 20. De Jesus -------------------------- 21. Lopez 22. Dallas 23. Kloffenstein 24. Horwitz 25. Britton 26. Beltre 27. G.Martinez 28. Santos 29. Danner 30. Juenger ----------------------- 31. Van Eyk 32. Perry 33. Duran 34. Palmegiani 35. Williams
  16. I expected it would be more in the 1.2 range but we already know the math will work out so it's whatever. Obviously happy he signed. Something like Bohefren 400k overslot, JWB slot, O'Halloran half slot, Barry 75% slot, Mollerus 5k works
  17. I've heard teams are discussing numbers with 10-15 prospects at each pick they have. "Will you sign for X if we draft you at pick Y?" if not they move on to the next guy. They likely have 4 or 5 guys willing to take a certain number so if one gets snatched before their pick they have other options for similar money. There are probably occasionally guys like Bo who have such a strong deal worked out they're actively turning down other teams and the Jays know they will drop to them. Unsure if Maroudis falls into that category, or if they would have had multiple other options. It's also possible if they have extra money available and the guy they wanted gets taken they can "kick that can down the road". Eric Bitonti a HS SS got taken 2 picks before our 3rd rounder. It's possible they wanted him overslot, and then pivoted to JWB at slot and then used the 4th rounder for Maroudis overslot instead. I always find it strange when they have this extra money but they take the cheaper player first. You would think you'd take the most coveted player first hoping someone else doesn't beat you to the punch. They went college in round 3(JWB) then the expensive guy in round 4(Maroudis), college in round 5(O'Halloran) and expensive in round 6(Bohefen). When they took Irv Carter overslot in 2021 round 5, they went round 4 underslot with Chad Dallas. Last year they took Kasevich in round 2 and waited until the comp pick to taken Toman overslot. It would suggest they know the expensive guy will drop to their next pick as if they already ave a deal in place and know the player is turning down other offers and don't want the college guy they like taken before they so they order the picks that way.
  18. I don't see much if any savings so far, and there's a few guys who should be overslot. So I assume rounds 8-10 will be punts to pay for what we have so far. But I've been thinking that for 2 or 3 rounds now and they've seemingly doubled down. If they sign everyone they've picked so far... and they usually do then it's a great draft so far.
  19. PITCHERS Cooper Benson TJ Brock Connor Cooke Chad Dallas Michael Dominguez Mason Fluharty Hunter Gregory Devereaux Harrison Justin Kelly Conor Larkin Adam Macko Abdiel Mendoza Eric Pardinho Naswell Paulino Sam Ryan Dahian Santos CATCHERS Jommer Hernandez Andres Sosa INFIELDERS Alex De Jesus Cade Doughty Josh Kasevich Estiven Machado Rainer Nunez Glenn Santiago Riley Tirotta Michael Turconi Outfielders Dasan Brown Devonte Brown Gabby Martinez Alan Roden Garrett Spain
  20. I don't think that was ever a thing, but in theory 60 Day IL Ryu to add Green and then 60 Day IL Green then.
  21. I assume he'd have to go through a medical like anyone else would. If anything other than his elbow popped up as an issue Toronto would flag it. As for his elbow they know he underwent Tommy John, they likely could have flagged it too if they didn't like his rehab progress. They're happy with his elbow progress and nothign else came up so he passed. Like you say passing a physical isn't meeting some benchmark. Passing it means the team is happy with where you are medically to offer you the deal you had agreed upon. It's why Correa failed 2 medicals for 300+ million over double digit years but passed one for shorter term
  22. This. The ordering is quite strange. 27/3 is better for the Jays than 21/2 for a 32 year old reliever(his age when the option decisions happen). The only reason you'd accept 21/2 is if he's good and healthy. If he's good and healthy wouldn't you accept the 27/3 so it never gets to the 3rd option?
  23. Law in peak mid-season form already. Tiedemann didn't pitch in September. You'd think a decent scout would be capable of looking at the date of his player notes.
  24. Murphy is signing away FA years for 15 million. So Danny, how about that 40/5 offer?
  25. What money? Keeping Teo and not signing Kiermaier is the more expensive option
