  1. With how much this front office loves their lefty/righty matchups even if it means a AAA arm over an established righty... I really wish theyd get a true shutdown lefty so I dont have to clench the buttcheeks seeing Little/Flaharty in the 8th.
  2. If no other additions are made then let's hope Varland can be that guy. He has the stuff/makeup for the role. Hopefully another offseason to refine his game will be whats needed.
  3. Seems like a really good bullpen addition. Still lacking a true closer so lets see.
  4. As someone who has supported Shapiro from Day 1, this is well deserved. *do not look at my post history
  5. https://www.reddit.com/r/Torontobluejays/s/GVeknWWonD
  6. Would be unreal to get him man. Then we can worry about Bo afterwards.
  7. And he just took away the only real closer left in free agency :(
  8. But theres a chance we get a salary cap and having Ohtani's deal on the books during those years will hurt the Dodgers ability to spend
  9. But theyll get screwed during the years Ohtani's contract is on the books and hes retired at least lol
  10. And here we thought Bieber signed with us because he loved us :(
  11. Can someone tell this guy how to post links. Taking up half of the damn message boards with his posts lol
  12. Lets be real, we're gonna be running close to a 300M payroll by the end of the offseason. Its tough comparing this to how we've operated in the past since very few have gotten this budget/resources to work with.
  13. So looks like this was the smart play to not lose anyone off the 40 man with this calculated gamble? If so, well done!
  14. I get the advanced numbers were nice to Yariel but i also care about the end result... Yariel was the tops best or near best reliever for half a season, thats not nothing. My question was going to be if no one claims him, can we still keep him in the organization by sending him toBuffalo? Does Yariel have to accept or can he decline and still get all his money?
  15. He was the teams best reliever for the first half of the season. Absolutely wild that theyre cutting bait with him when hes so owed so much money. Need to see the follow up move here but just burning money like this wasn't on my bingo card.
  16. Not sure which list is longer... the list of free agents the Jays are "interested" in every offseason or the list of people Spanky fights on this board lol.
  17. Can someone tell me why Mullins got so little? I really like the guys game.
  18. Kinda wild if we sign Tucker first and that means no Bo. Whatever... we can cross that bridge if we get there.
  19. Straw helps you recruit Tucker just for you to DFA him lol
  20. Have no clue how his game will transfer to the big league. Ill just see how the offseason unfolds because no clue what our rotation and the backend of the bullpen will look like. Just bring back Bo please and get a true closer. Seems like we might trade from a position of surplus to fulfill our needs
  21. Getting Bo back + a closer is all I want and expect. That'll already take us to a near 300M payroll. Santandar/Berrios have enough track record to expect a bounce back so its a waste of resources trying to get rid of them.
  22. I believe in Berrios... eating money when you can spend those resources elsewhere is foolish. Track records too great to not believe in a bounce back.
  23. The amount of money it would take to sign someone and then eat Berrios' deal, id rather use those resources on Bo or Tucker, a closer and an elite lefty. You can easily hope Berrios bounces back based on his track record. People wanted to punt Springer last offseason but guys like them are who they are for a reason.
  24. Ends up being 7/182. Think thats the same as Fried's deal last year.
