    I'm more interested in his lack of a gut. Unless thats one great "suck in" job, he's trending in the right direction. Compare that to the guy who started the season lol.

    Shatkins have both gone on record that they will spend. Then we have reports of how the Jays are being aggressive in the market. We can't even say its fake news since we landed Ryu last year. We have an exciting up and coming team, in addition to having our owners largely unaffected by the pandemic, relatively apeaking. All that makes me excited about our chances this offseason.

    I'd guess with rapid testing becoming a reality sooner than later, we might be good for when Baseball starts. Still think the Raptors might start in Newark but then come to Toronto by the end of the season.

    For sure. I expect some Liriano type trades around the league at a minimum. Heck, if Betts got traded this offseason, Dodgers could have gotten a bigger steal.

    Lol in a normal year I wouldn't say such things. Just knowing we are a team that has money to throw around as stated by shatkins, I feel super confident we will get at least 1 major peice. Especially when you factor in the amount of teams that will be cash strapped. This pandemic might be a "perfect storm" for us in the baseball sense.

    This is how you expose guys who are Jays fans and guys who are MLB fans. I dont watch much baseball outside of the Jays and the Playoffs lol. I really liked Walker. When Schumaker has been healthy, he's pitched like a top of the rotation guy. Because of his health, I think he can be brought back cheaply as our 5th starter. We should have enough depth in the system to fill in for him next year if he does get hurt again. Who do you think are better options for the bottom our rotation?

    I would love Bauer but if we dont get him then we try to get another ace next year or through trade. I'd even love a Paxton/Klueber/Morton. Just more high end rotation guys to ease the pressure off Ryu.

    Thanks for creating this thread. It became confusing which of the threads to use to talk free agency in lol. I want us to re-sign Walker and 1 of Schumaker or Ray and then get a real ace. Love Ryu but I think hes a number 2/3 on a real contender. ? Ryu Pearson Walker Schumaker/Ray For position players, we need a stud CFer and stud SS, especially defensively. This will improve our suspect defense immensely. Bo would be a ++ defender at 2b. Aiming for Springer and Simmons or Bradley and Lindor.

    This is the perfect time for a team like us who were on the verge of signing guys even before this pandemic started. We should be able to buy low and hopefully stock up better than expected. Shapiro already said that our budget is pretty much unaffected for the upcoming season. I'm getting pumped since it will be a perfect market for us. Really saddens me that we have 22 million invested in Roark and Grichuk. We'd be able to get Allstars for that price in this market.

    Does the MLB free agency period begin November at midnight or noon? Wondering when we can start hearing of official signings.

    Bauer Springer or Realmuto 2 of Walker/Schumaker/Ray Bauer Ryu Pearson Walker/Schumaker/Ray Walker/Schumaker/Ray Thats my ideal starting rotation. Sucks that we'll have 22 million tied up to Roark and Grichuk next year, which might hurt us from achieving the above.

    I dont see us using the DH on Gurriel/Teo/Grichuk since I feel they're too young for it. Teo would be the candidate if all stayed but I'd assume we'd move Grichuk. His contract isn't absurd for what he provides. We also have Tellez who played great before getting hurt. Him and Vlad will be the cheap DH/1B combo.
