  1. Updated my post since I just added the contract years to their ages, which was a mistake.
  2. I'm not saying he isn't but the Phillies will have Realmuto until he's 33/34 while we'll have Springer until he's 36/37. Was just trying to give some context to the deal. Not bad at all for the best catcher in the business.
  3. Can we really talk about contracts when we just gave up 6/150 to Springer? Seems like a fair deal for the most part for the level of talent he is. He's 2 years younger and getting one less year so he'll be there for all his prime years.
  4. Ya I saw enough of Biggio at 3rd to know he can't play there unless it's for emergency situations. Spring training is happening soon so the market will have to pick up soon.
  5. I would take Shoe as the 5th starter all day but we're forced to use one of Roark/Stripling since we already have $$ invested there. So I don't see him coming back unless we strike out on every better pitcher. 1/2 Ryu and ?? 3 Pearson 4 Ray 5 Roark or Stripling
  6. Predicting landing spots for top remaining MLB free agents https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2098060 Fun little prediction read. Not a fan of Wong being linked to us so heavily. I don't want to move Biggio to 3rd just to fit him here. Wouldn't mind Rosenthal, Odorizzi and Didi to finish the offseason. Will still hope for Bryant/Hendricks.
  7. Ya I don't see Bauer as an option. I think we're gonna end up with Walker but would love the Bryant/Hendricks combo.
  8. This would suck... thats one less option we have and makes the price of others go a tad bit higher.
  9. Ya... no one ever says "I'm here because Houston paid me the most." Same reason why Springer won't say the same thing lol.
  10. Seems like Houston upped their offer at the end to ensure they wouldn't lose Springer and Brantley to us within 48 hours. We probably had a 3 year offer but at a lower AAV (3/40?).
  11. Brantley was 'close' to joining Jays before re-signing with Astros https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2099919 This does hurt lol.. He would have put our lineup over the top but that can still happen so let's see.
  12. Not why the players would be against it when they're the ones who argue and get upset at Umpires all the time. Everyone but the MLB umpire association should be for it.
  13. Report: MLBPA rejects MLB deal for universal DH, expanded playoffs https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2099744 Reports saying this could still happen but not good news as I loved the expanded playoffs. Not liking how the MLB is connecting the Universal DH to expanded playoffs.
  14. We can nitpick everyone's life if we really want to. I'm sure everyone now and again has mean or rude to randoms. If that's the worst you have towards him then you're pretty damn lucky...
  15. And got to choose his next location lol
  16. Should have just picked him up off waivers lol
  17. Sounds like we could just add Gurriel to that and go get Bryant/Hendricks.
  18. Ya I think Gurriel would be involved and lesser quality prospects. Springer Bo Bryant Skinny Vlad Teo Tellez Grichuk Jansen Biggio Biggio can also be moved to 6th with Grichuk 7th and Tellez 8th to split up the Lefties. I like the idea of Biggio setting the lineup up for the top of the order.
  19. Think you responded to the wrong person. I said we should be involved if we were involved for Lindor/Carrasco. Only makes sense as long as the cost is reasonable.
  20. But if we were runner ups in the Lindor/Carrasco trade then why wouldn't we be seriously involved here? It fits 2 major needs and we wouldn't be looking at a 300 million dollar investment here.
  21. Would it be similar to the Lindor/Carrasco package? Although I'm not sure of Hendricks contract status so that would obviously impact the return heavily. Lindor > Bryant, Hendricks > Carrasco
  22. Dammit... Yankees did more than they were saying they would do. Went from maybe keeping DJL to keeping him and adding 2 arms to the rotation.
  23. I think the majority would pick Paxton (after Bauer) of any pitcher left on the free agent market. He might have the highest upside.
  24. Report: Red Sox add Richards on 1-year, $10M deal https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2098082
  25. Agree with the first part. Jays have yearly budgets and this will give us 2.5 million more to use for future years. We are never coming close to the luxury tax so that points moot lol.
