  1. Ya I don't get it. He was just finishing his follow through. I recall a stupid play in Game 5 vs Texas where something similar was ok.
  2. We only have one Ryu so majority of our pitchers will probably suffer a fate closer to Zeuch. Oh and people here were mentioning "luck" in reference to the hits happening today vs Zeuch. I was just mentioning this is not luck just based on the approach so I guess you agree that some of today's hits are due to skill by the hitter.
  3. Because these hits and swings are clearly going oppo on our shifts today lol.
  4. P.S. you're seeing great examples today of swings that are clearly aiming for the large gap in the defense. That's not luck... thats skill.
  5. But the data gathered for the spray charts are usually when the defense plays straight up. It becomes on the hitters to begin adjust to how they're being played. I've seen enough hitters with good enough bat control able to do so while some are stubborn by refusing to change their approach. Just aiming the ball to areas of the field where there are less defenders automatically increases your chance of a hit. I would argue that's not luck and more so strategy by the hitter. Agreed about the hits that go through small cracks between the fielders though.
  6. Seems pretty obvious what I meant. I'm not gonna pretend like I played baseball at a high level but even I'm able to direct balls through massive gaps in the field. Why wouldn't you think Major Leaguers can do the same? I've seen many hits where you can tell by the swing that the hitter meant to hit it through the open area in the defense.
  7. It's honestly night and day from last year. It's to the point where I think he can actually play some decent 3B when called upon.
  8. Bad decision by Bo. 0 chance to get him.
  9. Are we sure it should all be attributed to luck? You don't think batters can aim their hits through gaps in the shift?
  10. And that's without Kirk and Springer in the lineup lol. We could have 0 easy outs 1 through 9 when Kirk takes over for Jansen.
  11. Looks like we're getting the opening day lineup without Springer today. Let's gooo
  12. Good performance from Stripling. Just not sure how much to take from it since there's massive difference between the Tigers spring training lineup vs Yankees lineup he'll probably face in the regular season.
  13. Kay's so lucky that the Yankees haven't scored yet. He's getting hit hard. Also, this website keeps crashing today. Figure your stuff out pls lol.
  14. I'm still in awe that our lineup can look decent without Springer, Vlad, Semien and Biggio in there.
  15. Starting lineups for today?
  16. Mets owner decides to 'crowdsource' Lindor extension https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2141915 I will laugh if they can't come to an agreement lol
  17. Ah ok lol. Ya I was already comparing this team to the 2015 team offensively. While we don't have 3 beasts like donaldson/jose/Edwin, the rest of our lineup seems to be better. Hopefully our guys stay healthy so we can see our guys beast
  18. Exactly what i thought. Didn't even look like Teo swung properly and it almost went out.
  19. Anderson better not have a good year for the Phillies lol
  20. Did those guys fail their physicals though? Its one thing to come off an injury but another to be physically unfit the moment you sign the contract. I do agree that this stuff must happen more often than we hear about. We can fix this problem by just throwing more money at the situation so let's see how we proceed. It was only a 1 year deal so it's not the biggest problem in the grand scheme of things.
  21. Ya, relying on a player who failed multiple physicals to be your closer in a season when you're expecting to make noise seems like a bad decision. These type of risks seem fine for meddling teams or teams that don't have payroll constraints. Wonder how we'll pivot from this news but I am curious how often this stuff happens and we don't hear about it.
  22. This one's on sportsnet today
