I was just mentioning why there is more negativity directed towards Grichuk in general. And 10 million is still 10 million that could have been spent elsewhere. Could have put more towards Brantley or whoever this past offseason.
Well that's a bummer. Owners may have been right to just postpone the season by 1 month. Seems like the entire US could have been vaccined by then and they could have had full ballparks everywhere.
Sounds like they're throwing him to the Wolves and saving Roark/Matz from the damage. I don't mind the strategy since we'll need to know how he's fare sooner or later. Think most hoped it wouldn't be so soon.
Ya there's no way Matz is piggybacking this year to start at least. We need Matz to provide innings and the only reason why I think hes not pitching this series is because he's a lefty and the Yankees are full of righties.
Roark well because he's Roark and he seems haunted by the Yankees from last year. They don't want to start his year off in a traumatic fashion lol.
That's the lineup we've been throwing around in Spring. I'd go with this with Springer out:
Biggio
Semien
Bo
Teo
Vlad
Gurriel
Tellez
Grichuk
Kirk (it will probably be Jansen)
Damn, we all knew our front end starting pitching wasnt good but thought we at least had good depth at the backend. Starting Zeuch in the opening series is depressing.
Just thought because it was opening day, we could get some excitement going. I did the same for the first spring training game televised lol.

He easily wowed me more but like you said, it's a really small sample size. Hopefully a full season in the minors will let us sort this out. Great to have such depth at premium positions.
