  1. I also think Bryant would be the cheapest big target we can get. Jose Ramirez and Chapman will cost so damn much. I say let's go after Bryant and Schwarber at DH for his left handed bat. We can hope someone will take Grichuk off our hands if the MLB implements a salary floor in the new CBS
  2. So after signing Gausman and losing out on Semien, it seems like the glaring hole on our team is how we're going to handle 2B/3B. I'm creating this thread mainly because I haven't heard many rumours this offseason of which infielder we're tied to but I'm pretty damn sure we'll make a big splash on that front. There are a lot of ways this can go but my preference at this stage would be to get a 3B and let Biggio/Espinal battle for 2B or just platoon them. I've even heard from some that we could maybe move Vlad to 3B and go after a 1B but I don't think we'll mess with Vlad defensively. Kris Bryant/Chapman/Jose Ramirez would be my targets so what are yours?
  3. That seems like the approach considering we still have Stripling/Pearson who can battle for the 5th spot. Stripling is going into a contract year so I wouldn't be surprised if he can pin down the 5th spot. I've lost all hope for counting on Pearson for anything until he can show us something without getting hurt.
  4. 4/180 for Max would be insane lol
  5. Haha I love AA too so I'm not even mad at this.
  6. 4 years at something like 160 would be absolutely insane lol.
  7. For real... NHL/NBA offseasons are a blast... they're like actual events. MLB offseasons are the worst usually
  8. Is there any report of this? I thought after Gausman, we'd look for the best bargain starter like a Matz to fight for the 5th spot.
  9. 3 offseasons in a row man. Ryu to Springer+Semien to Gausman+? What makes it even better is that we're at a point starting this offseason where we don't have to overpay guys anymore. That's left for the Rangers of the world.
  10. Rangers probably gave him a 10 year deal lol.
  11. Nah I'm going to believe the Mets offered him 5/200 but he loved us so much that he accepted 5/110
  12. This makes me so happy to read lol
  13. It's a contract year for Stripling... don't be surprised if we don't see a career year for him... not Ray like but could still be solid lol.
  14. Like others i thought it would take 5/125 at a minimum so I'm really happy with this deal. Sucks to lose Ray but if we can use the difference towards improving the rest of our team, it's a move you have to make.
  15. I thought a 5/125 deal was great for us but it may have taken 6/150 to get him like Springer. 7/175 is clearly the Texas penalty that only applies to them
  16. Report: Rangers agree to 7-year deal with Semien https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2237946 Sorry but this deserves its own thread. Hurts to see a s*** team like Texas overpay that much to screw us over. I really hope we can find a suitable replacement
  17. Maaannn... why is a s*** team like the Rangers taking our guy away from us
  18. Cancer doesn't seem like the right word here. Now whether he can be a teams 1/2 pitcher for long term in this division is another story. There aren't many of those walking around to be honest. Our management does seem to have a hard on for Gausman so let's see how it goes.
  19. Going the cheap arm route is exactly what led us to having one of the worst bullpens in baseball. We needed to improve the bottom end of our bullpen desperately and this might help do it. Now we need to add at least 1 elite bullpen arm this offseason to finish that area off and hope for good health.
  20. Well to be fair, stroman broke news that no one's talking to him so it's not like everyone has teams after them. Even if it's click bait, I enjoy seeing news about free agency lol. This offseason might be our biggest in determining how great our team is for years to come. These contracts will be for the longhaul so no more kid gloves anymore.
  21. 8 biggest names who could possibly be non-tendered https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2234189 Some names on this list that possibly can't be nontendered it seems.
  22. Damn... it's nice to be chosen over others.
  23. Well then... I hope we can land him if Ray and Gausman don't workout lol.
  24. Can get annoying off the field but love the guy on the field, which i mostly what I care about. Seems like he may have wanted to come back and we didn't want him. No reason to throw Ray and Gausman's names into the fire though.
  25. Surprised is an understatement, wtf is Vlad doing on that list? Seriously though, add Teo and hopefully Semien to that list
