  1. These are all good changes being discussed. Hurry up and finalize things that most seem to be on board for. There is 0 reason for there to be a lockout with League being relatively healthy.
  2. I absolutely love the idea of picking your opponents. Adds so much more intensity knowing the team wanted to play YOU.
  3. I doubt Seager nor Semien actually expected these contracts from any of their preferred destinations. Rangers came in and just screwed up the market for a team that's going nowhere. Ah well... like another poster said, it's a free market so we need to figure it out and keep improving.
  4. The s***** part of the Rangers spending stupidly is that there are 2 less targets for us. We're actually trying to win something while I have no clue wtf the Rangers think they're doing.
  5. Why wouldn't the Rangers at least show they've a half decent team first before shelling out all this cash? What a stupid franchise lol.
  6. Aside from the bullpen and the 5th starter job, we're pretty much all locked in to our current guys. This is assuming we will make a big splash for a 2B or 3B. We might be too good for players looking to bounce back lol
  7. That is a great way to attract guys looking for a bounce back year.
  8. Well... we saved 5 million overall AND got a compensation pick. We don't get that pick if we bring back Ray.
  9. Wow... anyone surprised we went with Gausman with the contracts being so similar?
  10. They do have a pretty good team on paper man. Plus they're still trying to spend it seems so maybe this is their year lol.
  11. I also think Bryant would be the cheapest big target we can get. Jose Ramirez and Chapman will cost so damn much. I say let's go after Bryant and Schwarber at DH for his left handed bat. We can hope someone will take Grichuk off our hands if the MLB implements a salary floor in the new CBS
  12. So after signing Gausman and losing out on Semien, it seems like the glaring hole on our team is how we're going to handle 2B/3B. I'm creating this thread mainly because I haven't heard many rumours this offseason of which infielder we're tied to but I'm pretty damn sure we'll make a big splash on that front. There are a lot of ways this can go but my preference at this stage would be to get a 3B and let Biggio/Espinal battle for 2B or just platoon them. I've even heard from some that we could maybe move Vlad to 3B and go after a 1B but I don't think we'll mess with Vlad defensively. Kris Bryant/Chapman/Jose Ramirez would be my targets so what are yours?
  13. That seems like the approach considering we still have Stripling/Pearson who can battle for the 5th spot. Stripling is going into a contract year so I wouldn't be surprised if he can pin down the 5th spot. I've lost all hope for counting on Pearson for anything until he can show us something without getting hurt.
  14. 4/180 for Max would be insane lol
  15. Haha I love AA too so I'm not even mad at this.
  16. 4 years at something like 160 would be absolutely insane lol.
  17. For real... NHL/NBA offseasons are a blast... they're like actual events. MLB offseasons are the worst usually
  18. Is there any report of this? I thought after Gausman, we'd look for the best bargain starter like a Matz to fight for the 5th spot.
  19. 3 offseasons in a row man. Ryu to Springer+Semien to Gausman+? What makes it even better is that we're at a point starting this offseason where we don't have to overpay guys anymore. That's left for the Rangers of the world.
  20. Rangers probably gave him a 10 year deal lol.
  21. Nah I'm going to believe the Mets offered him 5/200 but he loved us so much that he accepted 5/110
  22. This makes me so happy to read lol
  23. It's a contract year for Stripling... don't be surprised if we don't see a career year for him... not Ray like but could still be solid lol.
  24. Like others i thought it would take 5/125 at a minimum so I'm really happy with this deal. Sucks to lose Ray but if we can use the difference towards improving the rest of our team, it's a move you have to make.
  25. I thought a 5/125 deal was great for us but it may have taken 6/150 to get him like Springer. 7/175 is clearly the Texas penalty that only applies to them
