  1. Ya it would be pretty stupid to spend that money much longer term and then leave all other holes such as the bullpen and one more hitter at 2B/3B.
  2. Would be great though... only way I see it happening is if Jansen's market totally craters.
  3. That f***ing Dickey trade lol.
  4. Manny Ramirez was a frigging stud lol. I have always stated that I believed in Vlad but also don't trust fattys. Guys that don't show true commitment to their bodies and only start when there's a big payday on the line are scary to forecast longterm. I'd only give him a 10 year deal if there were some weight clauses like Zion's does in the NBA. The decisions need to be made whether he and Bo stay long term with the franchise like yesterday. You can't let them enter the season without an extension.
  5. We know how this front office works. I truly feel they lowballed him in the first offer, which is fine and all, as long as they comeback and pay him Devers money.
  6. I actually talked to a few folks in the Jays organization for a potential job during covid but the pay was a massive issue. They pay knowing many folks want to be part of the organization. Sucks because it would have been a dream.
  7. Not happy with the list. A lot of folks I wanted on this team potentially made the list that I wasn't sure would. Now they've become slightly less desirable.
  8. Depends on your browser. I have to disable my protection to view the embedded tweets. Annoying lol
  9. The whole AL sucked ass this year. There were like 5/6 national league teams that would be favored to beat every AL team in the playoffs imo.
  10. I remember so many people laughing at Stanton and thinking he should have been DFA'd. Probably the same people who wanted to get rid of Vlad for a bag of peanuts lol. Kudos to him to shoving it to all the haters.
  11. What is that idiot doing. I'd punish the Dodgers and give the Yankees a HR
  12. Is baseball season over? This layoff has been super long man lol. Hurry up and end it so we can sign Soto
  13. Ya I agree but that's the position they've put themselves in. Anything less is just a waste and we might as well start a full rebuild with new management. A team that finished 7th worst in baseball would typically require a massive boost. They could also get creative and trade whatever prospects we have to fill the void in the pen. Usually pen arms don't demand the biggest haul prospects wise. Go out and sign 2 hitters that will slot in our top 4 of the lineup with Springer moving to the 5th spot.
  14. “We know the Blue Jays have been looking to fill the third base spot more permanently for the past couple of years,” ESPN’s Buster Olney said recently on TSN1050’s First Up. “They made Matt Chapman [an] offer for about $125 million early in the 2023 offseason. Bregman fits [their needs] in a lot of ways.” Bregman, Teo and 2 elite bullpen arms... I don't ask for much but that's the minimum this team needs to be in contention next season lol.
  15. "are we live?" "Yes Kike" "The fact we don't give a f***." Hahaha
  16. Detroit might be the worst team of all time to reach the ALCS. I guess with expanded playoffs, we'll see a lot mor2 occurrences like this. Still can't believe they're gotten this far lol
  17. Love Teo. f*** you Shatkins!!
  18. Not gonna complain about the Springer signing. We knew we had to give the extra year for him to come here and most were happy with it at the time. I still don't think he's completely done as a player. He plays well at RF and can be an effective 5th hitter or so. It's just the days of him batting leadoff should be considered over and not something this front office should be relying upon.
  19. Well, they won the year before and Chapman didn't seem to be the fondest of this organization. I'm probably too biased against Shatkins at this stage but those douches have shown near 0 people skills since they've been here and they haven't achieved enough success to offset their robotic approach to the game. I doubt they truly have any actual supporters but people are also fickle. If they go onto sign Soto, you'll see me and many others jump ship pretty easily to support your point lol. I just find it unrealistic for them to do all the things required to get on the good side of their peers at this stage.
  20. I would love Shatkins to develop the balls to put their faces in front of the fans. These 2 have been in hiding ever since the Berrios f*** up. I can't think of 2 more hated sports people in this city at the moment. They started with everyone hating their guts and their tenure will end with everyone hating their guts lol.
  21. But most would agree that the "bounce back" from this team just doesn't exist unless MAJOR additions are made. There is such a lack of overall talent offensively/bullpen that we can't compare this situation to the teams you listed. We also have a piss poor farm system where we can't even "hope" we get unexpected performance from there. It's literally free agency and/or a miraculous trade to get this team back into contention.
  22. Ya I'm just saying what I think it'll take to get this team back to relevancy from an offensive standpoint. If our off-season is as you suggest, I'll get a headstart and tune this out before the season even starts like i did for most of the 2nd half this season. This team showed it is not currently close to contention. Go check how a real team that gets saddled with injuries looks like (Braves). How they still made the playoffs is remarkable.
