  1. While those things are true, i think its also flawed. Gimenez would need to be a high OBP guy to actually make that scenario practical. I prefer having Kirk up to bat in run driving positions that would come with batting right after the big 3. I see Gimenez more likely being a rally killer than a guy who will keep it going and be on base for Kirk based on his performance the past 2 seasons.
  2. Ya that's why I've been saying to move him right after our big 3. Would be a huge boost to the lineup if he can regain his allstar form again. Hope Schneider isn't stuck on the idea of splitting our lefties to the detriment of the overall lineup.
  3. VS Righties 3B Wagner SS Bo 1B Vlad DH Santandar C Kirk CF Varsho RF Springer LF Barger/Rodon 2B Gimenez VS Lefties SS Bo 1B Vlad DH/LF Santandar C Kirk RF Springer LF/DH Schneider/Martinez CF Varsho 3B Clement 2B Gimenez Obviously the positions will switch around based on who makes the team and who's in the lineup.
  4. Springer/Gimenez have been batting 4th/5th and 5th/6th.
  5. There's no way the Jays plan to use Gimenez 5th and Kirk 8th simply because of being a lefty/righty correct?
  6. Their future is fully dependent on how the Jays do this year. Shapiro nailed his fate with Atkins once he refused to fire him over the past couple of years. We all want the Jays to do well so if that means Shatkins stays as a result then I'm fine with it. Currently I got them as a fringe Wild Card team if things go right for the most part. I don't think the season will go well enough for them to remain here though... just my 2 cents.
  7. And yet he's good enough to start for this team on opening day when he hasn't even had a full year at AAA?
  8. Normally it would make sense to manipulate his service time but there's too much riding on this season to probably not go with your best players period
  9. Like most already knew, ABS needs to be in baseball like yesterday. It's awesome
  10. Congrats Gallo, you are the new Cleanup Hitter for the Jays lol
  11. This roster already needs those guys even if Springer turns the clock back. This season will be heavily dependent upon having at least 2 of the AAA guys become good MLB contributors.
  12. Francis/Rodriguez/Bloss have been getting rocked all spring. Hope Francis can at least turn it around since the 5th spot is all but his.
  13. Wasn't me but if Jaysblue said it, I'll sign off on it without even knowing what he said lol.
  14. Thing is this team doesn't have anyone else on the roster except maybe Kirk who i could comfortably want as our cleanup hitter. I've loved what the kids have shown in Spring but I don't think anyone wants to throw them in the middle of our lineup yet. Let's hope Kirky has a big bounce back year.
  15. Haha literally the first time I called out seeing Springer/Gimenez in the 4/5 spot... maybe twice at most. Just getting warmed up for the season tbh lol.
  16. Our cleanup hitter (Springer) is 3/19 Our number 5 hitter (Gimenez) is 6/25 Gonna be a long season with those 2 in the middle or top of our lineup.
  17. It's just weird using extremely young players at the DH spot unless youre an Alvarez type. There should be enough ABs for Wagner/Rodon even if we added Martinez with injuries/day offs expected. Heck, I don't think J.D. is a savior but the middle of the lineup is so sad that he'd still be an upgrade from what we have currently.
  18. Ya I made the exact same comment. It's why the Jays needed to make 1 more big move to add a bat but I would even take if we took a flier on J.D. at this stage. The lineup just isn't serious enough to be an actual contender. We're going to waste half a year and then make a move at the deadline to add a bat. Rinse and repeat lol.
  19. Don't like the idea of pressuring some of our AAA guys to be impactful big league guys so fast but that's the position we're in. Ideally, Rodon/Martinez would get a full year at AAA to show deserve a spot. Still wanted one last move to get a big bat but that ship seems to have sailed. It's hard for me to trust Springer being in the top 4.
  20. Rodon/Barger/Clement homering today while Straw keeps hitting. Rodriguez/Francis/Bloss struggling. Really dont like Springer batting cleanup but enjoying some of the young kids performing well. We'll definitely need at least 2 from the group to be impactful players this season.
  21. I guessed Adam Lind right when looking at the pic. I'm not 100% on this like I was with Pat Borders though lol.
  22. Vladdy has been under control and has publicly stated he wants to stay with Toronto his whole career from the start. Jays could have easily had these talks at any point during his tenure and it was Vlad who actually created this self imposed deadline to even initiate these talks. It is literally the job of the Jays management to manage their assets. As soon as you find out an asset is being unreasonable, you as an organization need to do what's best for you. This will 100% come down on Shatkins either in a good or horrible way and rightfully so.
  23. No one's giving Shatkins anything, you trade his ass as soon as he asks for anything that ridiculous. It's like he thinks his whole career is a repeat of 2021.
  24. Let me know when I can expect to receive my brand new car lol
  25. It was close though... could also be Carter lol
