    That's the thing, I think rebuilds are usually better when you try and supplement the roster with some great proven players and try and stay respectable. This is just speculation, but I think it can be demoralizing for young kids like Vladdy to come up on a team that just gets beat down the majority of the time. I know San Diego has been crap for a lot of years, but I kinda like how they're going forward with their rebuild now, a mix of great talent via free agency mixed with the young kids rising up.

    I said "good veterans". I suppose Smoak would be the closest thing, but he doesn't seem like much of a team leader. Giles is a bullpen guy, bullpen guys don't usually hold the position players accountable, unless it's the catcher.

    He'll undoubtedly run into a few long-balls down the stretch, but he's not the kinda guy I wanna see penciled into the starting lineup 2 years from now, let alone 5. And if he's gonna be regulated to the bench, he's not worth 50 mill.

    Don't worry, it's a good point. The fact that Grichuk of all players was the guy they were focusing on extending is more than a little puzzling.

    Exactly. I don't think the game is nearly as clean as some expect it to be. Players are just savvy about hiding it now.

    I'd hope so. It sets a bad precedent. That's also the problem with the lack of respected veterans on the roster, no good players to hold the young guys accountable.

    Yeah, I'm surprised no one commented about that here. When they switched the camera angle to first you could tell he was clearly jogging and Schulman sounded taken aback by it. Maybe the kids getting a little frustrated with the losing?

    lol Sports Action had a prop bet today, Angels homer over/under 1.5, Over paid out 1.80. I put 40 bones on that combined with Washington hits over 7.5. I wish I did more with that bet option, seems like candy from a baby. I did also put 75$ on the Angels ML with an online bet though. No easier money than when Jackson takes the mound.

    He's had some nice rips and has good plate discipline. I've liked what I've seen out of this kid. Hopefully he becomes one of the bright spots of the season.

    Damn, I missed the past 2 beatdowns of the Orioles cause I was out watching the Stanley cup and NBA finals, now I tune in again and the Jays are getting mowed down. Too bad we can't play the Orioles every game.
