    Schneider talked about accountability when he took over, but it seems that was just talk as I'd assume here that Espy just did it or didn't know the count.

    Counter point, Maybe the advanced analytics department (who let's be honest is making/fueling many of the call) and advanced scouts are bad. Ever notice how often a pitcher they haven't seen carves them up?

    Montoyo missed the playoffs with Vlad and Semien finishing 2/3 in MVP voting and Ray getting the Cy Young. Yes, he was terrible.

    I'm not sure who these mythical elite bullpen arms people keep talking about if Romano isn't one of them. Short of Felix Bautista (who has blown 6 saves FYI) All closers blow saves at a 10-15% rate (even Mo). Jordan Romano's career save percentage is identical to Mo's. If you are looking for a guy with elite swing and miss, Richards is top 5 in k/9 (97 percentile in whiff rate and 99 percentile in chase rate) . If you are looking for elite velo, Hicks is it. Sure, we don't have someone who is elite at everything, but I'm not sure that exists.

    If Bichette is healing faster than anyone expected they definitely undersold the severity of that injury initially...which isn't shocking for the Jays org.

    It was honestly refreshing to hear the Apple TV commentators speak about him without the rose coloured glasses our announcers have on for him.

    Karl Malone was a judge at the dunk contest this year and is still celebrated. Maybe MLB players are more likely to react poorly than NBA players but I don't think they care as much as one might hope.
