Don't want to divert the thread.. However, my observations are is that they treat the labor and delivery area like a sacred sanctuary. I don't think they would use a test they didn't feel was reliable. They would probably just do frequent testing of mom's scheduled to deliver at whichever facility, Babies are not surprises apart from a few weeks here or there.
Point being, if they can use it with faith in a labor and delivery area of a hospital, I think they can for some baseball player... Especially if they do multiple tests creating a redundancy...
