  1. what has changed deep down? the best teams bring in the players that hit and throw the hardest, as they have for 100 years... Boston did a genius job bringing in great pitchers and hitters, but anyone could tell you that was going to work. the only thing that has changed is the all-or-nothing plate appearance with no shame in striking out 3-4 times a game.
  2. What marketing do you see for baseballers? besides chewing tobacco or Aqua Velva?

Almost to games that actually matter....
  4. I still like the strategic use of the bunt, and watch a lot of NL games, but in the AL East it doesn't mean much these days.
  5. Seems that Stubhub is allowing the price to fall as gametime approaches. The last few seasons they froze the asking price 3-4 hours before the game started.
  6. Brett Gardner led off the inning for his first 5 plate appearances today, has to be a record.
  7. You have to at least show you are trying to win a game.
  8. I can think of a noted Brazilian soccer star of the 80s, a man made to drink hemlock more than 2000 years ago (possibly reflected in famous dialogues) and an Isocrates around the same time as a philosopher.
  9. They PH Hanser Alberto for him in the 7th yesterday, during his 3rd sad appearance Palmer stated that he isn't exhibiting the mechanics of trying to hit a major league pitch
  10. They started early this year without the usual spotty scheduling, and it can be justified, but cutting out on a Friday night game doesn't feel right. Stranger than the Leafs not playing on a Saturday night, even a road game.
  11. No Yankees and Orioles game on a Friday? Okay.... whatever....

8th place in the Western standings requires a .570 pct.
  13. If you are heading there, the sections between home and first in the 300s are all you can eat/drink food and soda same with Cincy, a nice touch
  14. A second time this year that a runner has been hit by a batted ball in a Yankees game, you can go years between seeing it happen Kay knew the rule and said with the infield back the runner was out, Judge hit in the heel by a line drive heading to third

seen him a few times on TV he isn't playing with a selfish-isolation guard goof-around in Memphis
  18. Rarity in the Yankees game with the runner on first getting hit by the batted ball on his way to second. Somehow CB Bucknor wasn't able to notice this in his snooze-fest at second, geez he gets the 3rd game behind the plate... The announcers failed again to tell us the rule on this situation, in which the runner is out if there is any possible way the D could have made a play on the ball. If the fielders are in, a hit baserunner behind them is not an out...

What's with these compound fractures? Are they in essence wearing ski boots on the court in these shoes? I'd take a low degree ankle sprain over possibly ending my career with my fib-tib sticking out through my sock.
  20. I know, when I'm watching the Jays i hate the pitcher hitting. When watching an NL game I can mellow out and let it roll. When I'm at PNC Park I can enjoy it a lot.... Does 3 mean the NL reliever can't be subbed as a batter if he only faces 1 to get out of an inning???
  21. The majority of games i watch are AL East, i enjoy games from other divisions and leagues just as easily. Pretty rough last 10 years for the objectively better game in the AL East in the playoffs.
  22. you can never pay enough for a great player most often they pay way too much for a nothing
  23. The NL has no problem with pitchers hitting. When I go to games in Washington or St Louis and I introduce your point of view (i'm 50/50 about it) the fans don't care at all about removing it. It's a completely different game outside of the AL East...
  24. cool!
  25. you are watching the game on DAZN, the only place you can see them? is the coverage good? I know a lot of people who talk about the sport but don't even bothering watching one second of it, many are shocked to learn it is no longer on TSN/Sportsnet and I see the EPL has been snaked away from TSN and other cable stations for next season.
