  1. The promising thing has been the serious drop in walks. And just from the eye test too he's been in way less 3 ball counts and isn't falling behind as much as before. I'm still questioning the Ks for now but the drop in walks might have staying power if he pitched like today.
  2. 10 whiffs for 9.9% on the night. Threw 14 curves and 16 changes which isn't too bad. The first inning was pretty brutal with the pitching calling with two strikes.
  3. Another solid start from Sanchez. 3.18 xFIP on the year
  4. No walks is good to see, BABIP is showing up big time today, but jeez stop throwing so many fastballs in good counts
  5. Stop calling for fastballs down the middle with 2 strikes
  6. How long does it take for called strikeouts to stabilize?
  7. A nice start for Sanchez, still lots of walks though. 7Ks is great, but more whiffs would've been nice to see. It will be interesting to see the full report after the game but he really threw almost entirely fastballs. When the curve was mixed in it looked really good and no one ever hit it well. Change up disappearance is still mystery.
  8. It's really a mystery where the change went after some nasty ones in his first start...

Derozan needs to go holy s***, the ball stops in his hands. Lowry with another absolutely awful playoff performance. Powell nowhere to be seen, Ross just brutal again. If this is what it takes to make sure we don't make the franchise crippling mistake of signing Derozan to the max, then so be it.

Powell is seriously impressive. He's shooting the 3 at an impressive rate since he became a starter, is excellent in transition and plays great defense. Great poise and character too, we've really got some impressive young talent with Powell, Wright, Bebe and Bruno (plus two picks this year, and two next year). What a great regular season for the Raptors
  11. There's really two interesting and potentially promising developments going on here with Sanchez. One is the potential improvement of his command, which would obviously lower the terribly high walk rate he's always had. The first start I thought was the best I've ever seen his command, but yesterday wasn't nearly as good. The second is the potential improvement of his off speed pitches. We saw the devastating change up in the first start and a couple nice curves (with different movement, I wonder if he purposely is trying to change his curve..). This would effect his K rate more than walk rate. Ideal scenario would be BB go down, K go up, but with his GB tendency we really only need to see one or the other to have a serviceable starter. Overall I'd say I'm definitely optimistically intrigued by what I've seen in ST and in the 2 starts and can see a glimmer of the huge potential he has if both continue to improve.

  14. I can't wait to play the O's and see the s*** storm on their board when Bautista bat flips a bomb off "ace" Tillman.
  15. Big test facing all the lefties tonight.
  16. So if Sanchez's Swstr% is good again tonight he might be on to something with the offseason adjustments
  17. I can't wait until we win a game and this thread gets buried until the next loss. Yeah it's idiotic that Pillar is leading off, but whatever I have more issue with the roster construction and bullpen management. Looking at you Carrera...
  18. Personally, I'm very impressed by Dickey getting 9 Ks, if he can get the K rate back up this year that would be huge. Also impressed by Bautista and Donaldson, they picking up right where they left off.
  19. This guy posted all of these one after the other. Looks like he's a special, braindead, Orioles Hangout version of a drunk Spanky.
  20. This team would greatly benefit from calling up Ceciliani and getting rid of Carrera, Loup returning and Leon gtfo, and having even a tiny bit of intelligence in bullpen management. We'll be ok.
  21. Chill guys, if Dickey pitches like this for the rest of the year we're gonna get another 200 innings of 1.5-2 WAR which is a pretty important piece of our rotation. It's hard as f*** to watch the guy pitch but he wasn't bad today, and at this point he is what we know he is.
  22. It is good to see Dickey getting a bunch of Ks and some bad swings. His BB and K rates have been going the wrong direction since he got here.
  23. Thole's career WAR with the Jays: -0.7 Might as well subtract that from Dickey's 5.4 over 3 seasons
