    The manager oversees and has final say on all on-field decisions. Once again I will ask, when people are angry over personnel decisions, where do you think that anger should be directed? We won the game, so no one can blame Gibbons for anything. He's taking heat because of questionable use of his pitchers, a decision that is ultimately up to the manager. People are upset about Estrada being left in the game, and directing their anger towards the guy who made the decision. Not really sure what else you would like them to do, maybe don't read the John Gibbons venting thread of you don't want to see people venting about John Gibbons.

    The difference between Travis and Goins at the plate easily makes up for Goins having a better glove. It's not even a conversation man, Goins is a defensive replacement for the bench at best, and Travis is an every day player.

    I agree with that. As tough as it may be, I think if some people would let go of the trade and recalibrate their expectations, they'd see that Dickey gives us pretty much exactly what this club needs out of a veteran back of the rotation starter. He chews innings and gives this potent lineup a chance to win most nights. It can be frustrating sitting through some of the long innings, I get that, but he's a solid veteran starter and our rotation as a whole is in quite fine shape as things stand.

    A two game sample size doesn't really mean anything, Goins is not a major league caliber hitter. There's no case to be made for him over Barney when the latter continues to contribute to our surge. Travis is miles ahead of Goins as a hitter as well, and Dominguez played because we needed someone to fill in at 3B.
