No one will want to spend even $4m on Morales for the same reason we want to move him. He’s not good enough to justify sacrificing roster flexibility when he can only realistically play DH. Martin would actually have value to a team like the Astros or Angels who need a catcher. -

Agree with some of these points, and also that if the Lakers were in the East they’d definitely make the playoffs. I don’t think it’s at all certain that playing with a 35 year old LeBron in 2019/2020 is that enticing if the Lakers miss the playoffs this year. IMO LeBron is too old to waste a year now, but you never know maybe he believes he can do to the West what he’s been doing to the East for years and drag an average team into contention this year.

LeBron is still godly but he’s got to start to wind down at some point. IMO the Lakers are worse than either version of the 2017/18 Cavs (i.e. pre and post the Thomas trade), and the move seems to be more about positioning his post NBA career than trying to win another ring.

The East is going to be really interesting this season. Seeing if the 76ers and Bucks can challenge the Raptors and Celtics will be fun!

TBF in the NLDS vs the Braves Kershaw went 8 innings while only giving up 2 hits (no runs).

I doubt Oakland's success this season is sustainable - pretty much all of those players had career years.

Yeah Petricka has options left. The only relievers who are out of options next season are Clippard, Tepera, Barnes and Guerrieri.

Cody Anderson had TJS in March 2017 and missed the whole of the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Basically we won’t know when Merryweather will be available until we get an update on his recovery. Though as he’s in his late twenties and has never pitched in the majors, it’s overally optimistic to expect him to be in contention to be in the rotation to start the season.

Goal of the Season contender in the Fulham vs Arsenal game:

Stunning Messi performance as Barca go to Wembley and beat Spurs 4-2. He scored twice and absolutely ran the game. He’s still only 31, and I believe as he enters his mid 30’s he’ll keep dropping deeper into midfield to exploit his vision and passing ability. Once he can no longer run much he’ll be like a supercharged Pirlo, dominating the game from midfield, and acting like a quarterback or point guard.
