  1. Go to see it up quick so we can move on from the s*** show that was Friday night .
  2. Just seeing Buck on my tv screen reminds me of the days when actually managed this team.
  3. I guess , not too sure that would have much of an effect , I am for one ride or die, stay til the end type of fan.
  4. I give massive props to all those who stay til the end of this train wreck. Does anyone notice the 500 level always empties out quicker than the 100 level when a game turns into a blowout?
  5. What's going to rally suck if this downward spiral continue is that a sold out crowd for the rest of the season is going to be exposed to it. I really wonder how far it will fall back next season, will nights of 15-20K a night become the norm again.
  6. Talking about two sport guys, former Jays pitcher Mark Hendrickson who played four seasons in the NBA before making the switch to baseball was drafted in 6 consecutive MLB drafts, 1992-1997. Can someone explain to me how that was even possible? Lots of guys are drafted twice, after high school and their junior year, a third time if they stay to their senior year, but six.
  7. I agree with that notion. After attending instructional league beginning next week, he then needs to go to the Arizona Fall League and likely one of the winter leagues after that. Spring training and then the a full season A team. St. Lucie like most of the FSL struggles with attendance and would get a huge boost. the league really does only exist because of spring training in the state and the stadiums that come with it.
  8. Should give the Kingsport Mets (Advanced Rookie, Appalachian League) a boost down in eastern Tennessee after averaging 903 fans this past season in a 2,500 seat stadium. To be honest the Mets can't just stick a circus like this on such a front office. Front office's in short season ball are typically a handful of people supported by a bunch of interns. The year round staff is only a few people. The Mets would really need to stick someone down there to oversea the public/media relations. Now this would be much easier to oversea having him with the Brooklyn Cyclones of the New York-Penn League but at the end of the day it will be down to what the Mets decide. My question, is it really that much of a jump from advanced rookie to short-season A?
  9. We would rather have what we have right now on this Thursday afternoon or be 9 games out with 15-20K in the building? This weekend is going to electric, enjoy it. The next 3 weeks is going to be a ride.
  10. Well this is not 1987, lots of baseball left to play.
  11. I have been thinking, should the Jays follow the Tigers and Yankees lead and be thinking to at least field a second team in the GCL? I kind of what whats the benefit of having 35 players on one team, seems rather big to me. To add to that does MLB really need three levels of short season ball. In my mind no one worth a lick should be playing more than two seasons in a short season environment.
  12. Not by any means would I like to see this but imagine if the Jays went into the final game of the regular season up a game at Boston and lost, thus meaning a tiebreaker for the AL East the next day. If it were in Toronto how would the Jays FO handle ticket sales for game they only found out would be played less than 24 hours before the first pitch?
  13. Never really a good idea to look ahead like that, be concerned on where you are now and build on it. But to tell you the truth having tickets to 9 of the Jays I dread the thought that last home stand means nothing and how a sold out stadium will react. Yeah even if they were to completely fumble themselves out of a play spot the tickets have been pretty much sold to the rafters. It would suck in so many ways. But hey either thought of making the post-season or completely missing it is beyond us right now.
  14. Yes, flex holders regardless if they bought 40 games, 10 games, have had them one year or five years can buy up to 12 tickets in total. I guess they did not want to go through the chore/hassle of tiers when it came to flex pack holders.
  15. Got the email today for the flex pack holders today, as I thought you will not be able to buy full playoff packages ie strips. It will be starting next Wednesday morning for two days and you will be able to buy any combinations of up to 12 tickets, ie 2 tickets to 6 games or 12 to one, whatever you want.
  16. The notification I got from MLB.com said it was Buffalo not Bluefield, but what does it really matter. Its likely he will never leave the Jays clubhouse.
  17. Thole back, resigned with Travis being optioned to Buffalo.
  18. Have no heard anything, others than if you buy 2017 season tickets right now you get access to 2016 playoff tickets. Based on everything I would be very surprised if flex pack holders get anything more than access to a presale for single game tickets.
  19. I will be interested when the dust settles and say there are a handful of teams at the table with a minor league offer, what peramiters he and is representatives are using to pick a team, ie does someone offer up the carrot of double A where the others are non-committal. I really do not see any harm in signing the guy and may go as far as not even bringing him to the big camp, let him do his thing at minor league spring training away keeping the media away. The only issue with that is minor league ST only really starts to take shape in mid March after a bunch of the kids return from the big camp and games begin to be played. You want to take a look at him early on, at least the first week against major league pitching. Now if the Jays were the team Dunedin would be an ideal landing spot at least from a commercial standpoint for a team that is second last in FSL attendance with 767 fans a night it may be to high a level right out of the gate but who knows only time would tell.
  20. Well if I am reading this right, For him to be irrevocable waivers Josh must have been placed on waivers earlier this month and someone actually made a claim. Wonder who would have done that? ( :
  21. What exactly is irrevocable waivers compared to being DFA'd? Remember last year they sent him to Bluefield and he came back up in September when the roster expanded. I wonder if this is just another way of doing that?
  22. He is not going anywhere. I figure after next season they will start tabling a long term ext. He will only be 32. It's just a good fit, no reason to not get it done.
  23. Dean out after 3 innings , kind of surprised they did not go at least another inning or two. Pitch count was getting up there though.
  24. That was scary seeing Loup warming up this early, good to see him sit right back down after the strike out to end the inning.
