  1. Completely agree on going to way more games during some of those lean years. I rremember one year, maybe 2000, around then anwyas, going to the first 7 straight home games start the season for nothing, bought 3 tickets for the home opener, which we realized upon coming in they never tore, getting a bar stool in the 200 base bar, buy brother going back outiside selling two, coming back in on the 3rd and we ended up with a pile of free ticket vouchers upon leaving, came back each night, kind to crazy to think looking back. It is great to have meaningful baseball back at the dome.
  2. After taking in tonight's 7-0 victory over Tampa, I have been to 17 games this season. Have tickets to 13 more games this season at the dome marking at least 30 for me. Will also be hitting up two next week in New York against the Yankees. While I would never judge anyone in regards to colaberating how many games you attend makes you more or a less of fan, I curious how many are each us here going to too. I know some who truly enjoy it more on TV unless they have their ideal seats, so at the end of the day it to each their own. GO JAYS !!!
  3. Danny Barnes getting up.
  4. It would be ideal, letting this lightly stocked bullpen the Jays have tonight off the hook.
  5. Hopefully they can welcome this kid to the big leagues, lighting him up big time.
  6. A callup Dunedin or would even New Hampshire make sense for a test? Just a thought.
  7. Randy Ruiz is stuff of legend, oh what a 33 game stint it was. Danny Barnes, I commend this kid for sticking it out, especially considering he has an Ivy League education to fall back on.
  8. That's good to see the Jays think that much of them to use a visa on them. I am curious do you ever see a kid not from the Carribean play in the DSL and how much of a jump it It to the GCL?
  9. Man, great post, brought up a lot of names from days gone by, Randy Ruiz what a 33 game stretch he had, something you can never take away from him. It's interesting when you compare the Jays home attendence from the first 55 home games this year compared to last. They have had 593,728 more people in this stadium in 2016 for an average of 40,276 compared to 29,481 at this time last year. Now as we all know it was not until August last year after the trade deadline that attendance caught fire which helped the Jays finish the season with an average of over 36K. Which was pretty good considering how many mid-teen crowds they had early on last year.
  10. This is beyond insane, especially for a 35 year old slugger. I would think it would be nuts for any of the 30 MLB GMs to entertain such a deal. Say you get 2-3 good years you could very well see yourself stuck with 60 million of dead money at the end.
  11. Completely agree , you will not be able to base much on this season even if it does not go well as so many tickets have been sold even before the regular season starts. Stub hub right now is very interesting , lots of cheap stuff available in the 500 level even with the exchange. I wonder when it will adjust as I assume much of what's listed right now is season ticket holders putting up what they do not want to use.
  12. I find dynamic pricing only pushs a ticket up and is very rarely adjusted down. I completely agree that the Jays FO is striking the fire while it's hot, having sold an insane number of tickets already and with all the hype heading into the season but wonder what it will be like in the future when they have a down season. Selling baseball tickets is a very different dynamic than the other sports based on the number of seats they have to sell and the amount of games played.
  13. Now that makes more sense as just giving each and every SSH an extra pair does not see all that plausible.
  14. Thats interesting, likely gives you an idea of where season seat totals sit if they are doing this. I wonder how low the total was heading into last season before things got hot.
  15. What is everyone expecting in terms of total season tickets sold heading into this season? Not sure where the total sits now but did hear they have sold 5,000 new season tickets so far. Anyone know how low did do you think during some of those dire forgettable seasons compared to when they capped it at 26K in the hey day, will be interesting to hear what info trickles around regarding this.
  16. Having grown up going to the old Variety Village Meet The Blue Jays Luncheons and having the great memories of those meeting the likes of Robbie Alomar, Joe Carter, David Cone etc, I was thinking with all the success the Jays have had recently would it be great to bring it back, I am sure it died off becasue of the dwindling interest in the Jays. Can't even remember when it was last held. It just crossed my mind recently and thought it could be something the Jays could bring back. Another event that fell by the wayside that gave the opportunity to meet the Jays, getting photos taken and autographs signed was the Welcome Back BBQ, which I also attended last in 2008. Not sure when it eneded too. It was quite reasonable at $40 a ticket was a fundraiser for the Jays Care. It was held on the field and the entire team was there at tables spread around. I was able to get a photo signed by Frank Thomas when he hit his 500 HR during his time with the Jays. I seem to remember the crowd not being too crazy and you being able to enjoy it. Just a tought on a few things they have done in the past. http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20080416&content_id=2534091&vkey=pr_tor&fext=.jsp&c_id=tor
  17. Not having that lefty makes it a real challenge, plus he at times most likely fears going to certain guys.
  18. Yost in my view wanted nothing to do with being up their on the podium, good on the Jays fans for being loud so he could not hear.
  19. Really surprised with how low it is getting , especially after the win last night. Guess the sheer amount of tickets bought with the resell market in mind was much higher than the market would bear. As far as I am conconcerend if you at leadt get your money back, ala face you are doing ok.
  20. Depending on tomorrow, Tuesday could see a spike or dip. Now if the Series is tied at 2 going into Wednesday you most likely a real appetite for tickets and sellers will benefit. Having been in attendance when both Oakland and Minnesota clinched the ALCS in Toronto that is not a fun experience, so some people may be avoiding it.
  21. Tickets have really been coming down on Stubhub today. Just saw one in 531 for $90, that it pretty good considering it's the infield.
  22. Just got sorted out for Monday, looking forward to it. Will be my 14th alltime Blue Jays playoff game !!
  23. It was $150 that included an absolutlely amazing all you can eat buffett. Spent about another $70 on beer, tax and tip. After 22 years really enjoyed doing it in style. It went up to $225 for ALCS and believe its $375 for the World Series.
  24. Yep, I am very happy that I kept them. I actually have a real ticket from game 1 of the ALDS as I had a table in sightlines and they gave us each one when we walked in. Very happy to have it.
  25. I would be very interested in buying the ticket, whats the total in Canadian you want?
