  1. I don't expect much more than what I highlighted above and I'm okay with that. Anything beyond that is gravy if we're being pragmatic. Still a very good team.
  2. He will get you a World Series but then leave your organization wiith a mess that takes a decade to clean up.
  3. Maybe the Phils cans squeeze them at home.
  4. I was going to go that route as well at the risk of making things up. Look, I am a Jansen fan. One of my favourite players on the team. Doesn’t mean we can’t look at them critically.
  5. Lol, what am supposed to discern from those videos? That he hit's everything? No he doesn't. I just looked around and this is what I found: "Lo and behold, pitchers have thrown him breaking balls 39.2% of the time in 2022, up from 29.3% of the time in 2021. This gameplan change is very sensible, as Jansen is only hitting for a .100 batting average and slugging .250 against breaking balls in 2022. As he has shown he can do damage against fastballs, he has hit 80% of his HRs over the past two seasons against fastballs, and pitchers have counter-adjusted to his pull power by throwing him more breaking balls." Pretty much what I had surmised. You can read the full article here if you want or you can just watch the game with a little more discernment. https://bluejaysnation.com/2022/08/04/danny-jansens-transformation-into-danny-bats-has-been-a-long-time-coming-but-is-it-sustainable/
  6. Stros coughing up a five to nil lead in the WS makes our wildcard loss seem less terrible… a little.
  7. Can Jansen hit the breaking ball? Seems almost every home run he hits is against fastballs with him ambushing pitchers. Before we crown him let’s see how he does over a 100 games played in a season facing a healthy diet of breaking stuff. He will come back to earth a bit. That said I believe he is our best catcher all things considered. Great pull hitter but kind of one dimensional bat.
  8. Altuve drops one in no mans land. The only way he can get a hit these days.
  9. I wouldn't mind seeing the Phillies win it. But to see Dusty finally get a WS Championship ain't bad either.
  10. Calling it now. Houston in six games. Gurriel mvp.
  11. TB Rays black magic at work in 2022.
  12. 34 year old Bassit for three years is worth a risk over a soon to be 37year old Kluber for one year. Both are risky, but Kluber is about to fall off a cliff.
  13. Only if Shapiro spends the dough for a live player. Yes that would be awesome.
  14. Bednar can be gotten with assets. Diaz will cost a bundle.
  15. why not Bedar over Diaz?
  16. Hader was last used in game two. Completely rested. Melvin said he wanted Hader to get a four out save but he could have pushed it in a win or go home game and had Hader get six outs to finish the game. I'm sure he regrets it now.
  17. Saw this today edit...ah I see Term already posted it.
  18. Donaldson looked so bad at the plate this series. Completely overmatched.
  19. Yes something has to change. I didn’t mention moving players rather a cultural shift. You never quoted Grant so I assumed this was directed at me. There is such a thing as team culture and chemistry. In my opinion this team needs to change both. Schneider may be the guy to do it. I stand by my opinions. You think it’s dumb. So be it.
