I don't think its an unreasonable to think you could run faster and better weighing less and being more lean. I'm not saying hes going to become a track star. But if he gets "ripped" lets just say and is a good base runner this could be an underrated tool moving forward. You can use the excuse that catchers can't throw in short season ball I suppose. Hes taking advantage of it now. I kind of like a guy trying to do more on the field. Especially when hes been so successful.

Are you assuming hes slow based on being chubby? Hes so young it wouldn't be difficult getting into great shape over the next 3 years. He could be a tremendous base runner with great instincts.

Why are they in such a rush to play a great game? No clock in this sport for a reason. You aren't going to gain more fans by making the game less appealing but perhaps slightly shorter. It's getting embarrassing. -
Well for a team that keeps talking about budget. And needing flexibility. Throwing 2 million down the drain is pretty annoying. So probably should see if you can get anything out of him.
