Travis was up and we had first and third. No reason to make that gamble whatsoever. If that was Drury, Panik, Espinal, Jansen, or McGuire maybe you make that gamble but not with your 3-hole up.
He was never going to throw 100+ pitches especially after a 30 pitch inning and facing the top of the order. I don’t even disagree with this decision. What really hurts is not letting Shoemaker pitch deeper last night because the Jays don’t have their best relievers tonight.
My entire point was on this basis that he would be easier to acquire than normal. I have no idea why you’re having such a difficult time comprehending what I’m saying lol. You have completely assumed the vast majority of what you just brought up.
You seem to think that this situation won’t effect Clevinger‘s trade value or availability and I think the opposite. You have somehow created an entirely different narrative.
