If one was going to be traded its probably Gurriel but he doesn't have to go in that trade. It could be separate trade or the Natationals could just look to flip him elsewhere. Teo would likely go to LF and Soto would slot into RF for the rest of the season. Soto's not a great RF but switching his position probably not the best way to go about acquiring him. Thats something you do in the off-season if anything. Teo has played all the Outfield positions and actually goes to LF when they bring Zimmer into the game to play CF with Springer going to RF.
What's really crazy about this story is Jack Leiter went Second Overall and has been getting his s*** kicked in all season at Double-A.
Good for Ricky. They are really pushing him and challenging him.
I think they would be willing to move Bo in a Soto trade I can't see him being the sticking point in any trade. They are obviously going to have to trade something significant off the MLB Roster. Bo just makes the most sense from the position he plays. And anyone else of similar value would be deemed untouchable.
Jays should make a list of all unsigned Senior Relievers. Any any of them that throw over 95 with a decent secondary and had good K rates. Sign like 20 of them and hope maybe 2 get to your MLB Bullpen one day.
Considering Tucker Toman was projected to us multiple times at #23. Getting him in the 70’s feels pretty good.
Couple high end high school kids. And 2 middle infielders with an advanced approach for hitting. Expecting a lot of College Pitching the rest of the way.
He does not lack confidence. Dudes throwing live games showing his full chest. If he throws strikes and has success the Jays will push through the system that is true.
I know he throws hard but he is no way ready to join an MLB Bullpen lol. He wasn’t even pitching in close games in College. He was almost like a side show.
I’m thinking a Lefty College OF bat for sure. I don’t think we’re saving anything on our First Round Pick lol stealing him from Vanderbilt.
I just watched Barriera‘s MLB Network interview and wow it was much different one from his ESPN one. ESPN one he looked like a humble kid just ready to work. MLB Network his confidence was like a 10 with a chip on his shoulder lol.
The emphasis on harder throwing is what I like to see. The Blue Jays in the past love polished. And sure we greatly benefited from Alek Manoah. But you also have your Deck McGuires, Jon Harris, and TJ Zoinks as a result as well.
