    If only he was 6 feet tall. 5’8 Varsho couldn’t quite come with it. And yes he’s actually 5’8

    He has been starting in AAA. But the Jays likely don't view him as one long term. Good chance he makes starts this month though. But it will be more bullpen days set up like this.

    Ok well we know Mitch White sucks. But Bowden Francis is something.

    This Jays team doesn't have much power so they gotta start scoring runs more like that. We know they aren't going to hit many homeruns.

    Francis looks like he might be able to be a weapon with that curve.

    So 8 strikeouts in 4 innings. They basically just created a reliever version of Gausman so far.

    Confused by the use of Mayza here but it is what it is. You would think they would have tried to get Francis through innings 4, 5, 6. And looks like they only want to use him for 5 and 6.

    I think people were expecting 1 or 2. Depending on how he did. He had thrown 3 innings this season and definitely earned that today.

    I mean I would have taken a Biggio strikeout over Espinals noodle roller to the Shortstop.

    Biggio has been much better after his horrendous starts. Espinal can't hit right-handed pitching in a large sample size.

    No him being a multi inning reliever is a variety of scenarios is more valuable. He can bridge to the late inning options if starter only goes 5 innings. Or he can throw the 6th or 7th inning. Or do this again. Lots of off days ahead. No real need for a 5th starter right now.

    Depends on what his pitch count is. I can't imagine they want him throwing many more. Hes a multi inning reliever but hes already at 29.

    4k's in 2 innings with no runs. Can't ask for any more from an opener. Possibly they let him start the third.

    I never said I was scared. Uncomfortable yes. Annoyed yes. Feels like nobody can really speak freely or disagree with things even if they aren't backed up by facts or science. But yes the scale of player was definitely a factor here. I wasn't really an Anthony Bass fan but it had nothing to do with religion or personal takes. It was quality of a Baseball reliever. Which had been much better of late before his last outing. Ultimately now being DFA'd he gets his full salary and he gets to choose his next destination. So I actually feel he gets the last laugh because hes going to be making all his money and won't have to face daily ridicule. I find it hard to believe he wanted to be booed at home the rest of the season.

    Belt hitting third makes sense. Break up the 3 righties at the top of the lineup. No idea why Espinal is playing though.
