  1. Mauer first ballot kind of surprised me but Beltre is right although I am surprised he was 95% first ballot. But if you look at his numbers I don’t even think some people understand how good of career he had. I remember when he signed that big deal with Seattle and people were saying its one of the worst contracts ever at the time. Todd Helton is a borderline HOF at best.
  2. Manoah is always going to be big guy. He’s never showing up to camp Kevin Durant slim. My concern is he’s going to be in good enoughshape where is cardio is going to be in a good place with the pitch clock so he can compete and maintain his stuff throughout a full start.
  3. Rosenthal might be reliable source in terms of information. But man he’s a terrible Baseball writer. That piece he wrote on Franco was outrageous. Soler has the most power upside of the remaining free agents. Seems like the safest pick and the Jays badly need someone who can hit Homeruns. They have already lost Chapman and struggled to hit Homers last Season. Unfortunately signing Soler also means IKF is likely our primary Third Baseman. Having a LF and 3B that can’t hit is not ideal.
  4. Garcia, Espinal, and lottery ticket prospect.
  5. Cool than we shouldn’t have money problems since teams are lining up for Yimi and take his salary off our hands. We are in absolute desperate need of 2 bats. And will probably need to overpay for both of them. So every cent counts.
  6. The fact that the Jays are so limited to watch they can spend is exactly why I argued not to have Yimi Garcia option vest making 6 million. Espinal making 2.7 million annoys me as well. Instead we have 18m to find an everyday 3B. Add an Outfielder and a DH. Piss poor asset management. Everyone is saying we can easily trade those guys though. Who wants a middle reliever making 6 million lol.
  7. When Fred Van Vleet left for free in free agency it really opened a lot of eyes in Toronto about not wanting to lose star free agents for nothing. So naturally Bo Bichette came up in a lot of conversations as someone the Jays can’t afford to lose for nothing. That’s where most of these conversations sparked from where I believe.
  8. Big difference between Berrios and Manoah is his track record of success. The underlying numbers weren’t as terrible either. It was clear Jose needed to mix up his sequencing but more than he just wasn’t executing pitches despite showing no decline in stuff. He was leaving way to many pitches in the middle of the plate and he was getting absolutely punished for it. Meanwhile Manoah doesn’t have a track record of success. Performed well above his projected performance. And completely lost all command last Season. People were expecting a regression nobody expected him to completely fall apart and become unusable. I don’t like the comparison because Manoah both lost his command and quality of stuff. His slider went from one of the best pitches in the league to one of the worst. I for one have no idea what were gonna get from Manoah. And that’s kinda scary.
  9. Worth every penny. He doesn’t even need to be the closer he can come in any situation and shut it down. Pressly can continue to be the save merchant.
  10. You’re high as f*** if you think that’s all it would take to get Kim. White was literally DFA’d and not claimed. Biggio a career role player with limitations Barger could be a piece in a trade but I think people on this board over hype his value.
  11. And the last thing I will say on this is I don’t think the Padres make that trade either. I would think they would want a more enticing package of prospects over Manoah coming off a horrendous Season. He couple be part of the trade. But certainly not the main piece.
  12. You’re always so f***ing negative for no reason. Imagine being this insufferable all the time.
  13. I never once said Manoah is toast. You aren’t getting Kim for nothing. Moving on from Manoah as the main piece to get a big addition at a position of need is a good piece of business. He in no way contributed to a playoff team last Season. In fact you could say he negatively impacted the team for how long they allowed him to struggle. Kim coming off nearly a 6 WAR season would be a huge get. Absolute risk you can’t resign him but the Blue Jays window to win is now. And I like the move. It’s not easy to find players like that. And yes you’re trading some control but its an asset with a lot of question marks.
  14. I disagree. I like it for both teams. Kim would be huge pickup. Gives the Jays a much needed element of speed, gets on base, and there's more in the bat for sure. Manoah underlying numbers were terrible last Season. There's a chance he doesn't even make the rotation out of Spring and if he doesn't pitch better his trade value will plummet even further. Espinal and Garcia are very replicable pieces. Don't even view them as losses.
  15. Put some f***ing respect on his name.
  16. Kim wanted to be a Blue Jay initially. I don't think it would be difficult to get him extended.
  17. I would rather they overpay Soler for 2 years instead of giving him 3+ years. If it has to be 20+ for 2 years I think we would all be fine with that.
  18. Not sure how I feel about giving that deal to a Swingman that most likely opens the Season in AAA. Considering all the other holes on the roster. But hopefully it works out.
  19. If they let Bo walk in Free Agency that would set the franchise back half a decade. If you can’t extend him you 200% need to trade him. Under no circumstances do you let him get to unrestricted free agency
  20. When they say monitoring Snell. It probably means nobody is offering Snell 5 years. Jays are probably interested in getting involved at a shorter term. So it wouldn't be anywhere near 5/150 it would be more like 2/60 or 3/75. Gotta pay the Canadian tax.
  21. Snell's stats are kinda crazy. Such dominant numbers but he also walked 100 batters. Really freaking weird. I guess racking up a s*** load of strikeouts and not allowing hits makes up for a little bit. But doesn't feel very sustainable.
  22. Well I would love to see him break out again. The pictures I have seen from this off-season are promising. It's easily the thinnest I have seen him but lets hope it stays consistent and he comes into the Season with something to prove. That arbitration meeting might give him the chip on his shoulder he needs. Big season for him and the Jays.
  23. I would prefer they just move on from him if he's going to be a DH at 25 years old. He's way to inconsistent, will be overpaid, and he's groundhogs worse nightmare the way he drills the ball into the ground on a regular basis. Not interested in his projections. I want someone who can hit the ball over the fence consistently at that position. He went almost a calender year without hitting a homerun at Rogers Centre.
  24. Vlad isn’t a good enough hitter to be a primary DH. Throw out 2021 he’s had a pretty mediocre career.
  25. I want Biggio playing over IKF and Espinal for sure. Unfortunately it looks like IKF is going to play the majority of the season at Third Base. Would be fine if they moved off of Garcia but only if it was to open salary for more impactful player.
