Healthy enough to pass his physical. And no longer capable of being the type of player he had the potential to be are 2 different things.

Guy choose to have part of his meniscus removed so he could come back sooner. If he rehabbed the injury he would have likely missed the entire season but made a full recovery. He ended up missing the entire season anyway. It was a bad decesion and I don't need a medical report to know if they are trying to trade for Bruce on what they think of Saunders. A healthy Saunders is more of an asset than Bruce. I don't think we are going to see a healthy Saunders.

No way Shapiro is giving the Reds any significant prospects. It goes against everything he said since coming here. You can't even really call him an upgrade. Trading for another OF can only mean the Blue Jays have no confidence in Saunders staying healthy and Pompey being ready.

If Saunders is the only significant piece going back with reds eating a huge chunk of his contract I'm not going to complain. Saunders knee is f***ed. I feel terrible for that guy.

I wouldn't hate adding Bruce if were getting him at a discounted price. What do the Reds honestly expect to get for him even if they ate significant salary. Maybe the Blue Jays feel they can fix him otherwise this doesn't make much sense. Especially with our new regime.

So the focus should not be on how we are going to resign Edwin and Jose but how to replace them. I love Bautista but if hes looking at 5-years 100+ million you trade him if were not a playoff contender or take your compensation pick. -

Mars hopefully. It will be interesting to see if he's actually healthy and for how long he can stay healthy.

If only Pillar all of a sudden developed patience overnight. It would be really nice to look for a more viable option in LF. Dexter Fowler would be a nice fit but draft pick compensation ruined that. Tulo protecting Edwin would be nice but Pillar should be hitting 8th or 9th. Hopefully Dan Shulman takes over full time. As long as he does College Hoops I think he will be happy. Blue Jays season doesn't interfere with that.
