  1. I'm worried this will impact his headspace going forward. That's the last thing you want for a guy who has objectively been one of, if not, the best SPs since the ASB.
  2. Kikuchi but if you needed to use a BP guy, anyone else.
  3. This was a terrible decision even without the benefit of hindsight. FFS Schneider, and now you mess with Kikuchi's confidence and make him think he needs to be perfect to stay in. This is the guy that is literally fueled by confidence and vibes.
  4. Man, he's only at 81 pitches, and this is Game 1 of an important series, this is exhausting the BP early. Is Yimi really a better option than Kikuchi?
  5. He was interviewed on Jays Talk Plus recently, I believe, and he indicated that he worked on his swing and approach all off-season and never had before. Previously all he did was rely on his defense and had no approach or idea of his swing.
  6. It's just so weird to me. The guy has the bat to ball talent of his father, or at least close to that, and came up with a great eye, despite the fatness. He's probably a bit fatter this year than 2021, but it's not like he's the 2020 version. His approach and great eye and vanished this year and he just swings at whatever each AB. You would think he would get more seasoned with each year instead of more confused lol.
  7. I hope we bring back Ryu on a 1Y + Team Option, if no one beats that. Or we get some other #5 type. I don't want to guarantee Manoah a spot beginning 2024. He absolutely should have to earn it.
  8. I agree, bring up Horowitz and give him a look. Maybe the time off and a Horowitz hot streak (?) Helps motivate Vlad to have a consistent game plan and approach when he returns.
  9. He may start in AAA next season if he finishes AA this way.
  10. And there we go..
  11. So 88 pitches through 5IP now, if it continues, does Schneider go all Dave Roberts or do we see tradition win out?
  12. Crickets in this thread?
  13. Jays O aside, Berrios looks dynamite tonight!
  14. Yep, maybe an inch away from middle-middle but that's still middle-middle.
  15. I agree, it's disappointing, but it makes sense. He hasn't been playing for a week now really, and it's not his fault. It should be DeJong tbh. Espinal isn't as good defensively, but, if Bo's back, Espinal can ride the pine mostly anyway. DeJong is pure trash.
  16. How much worse would Schneider be at 3B on D? The ABs will be 100% better, so if the D is far worse, he should be playing instead of Espinal.
  17. Was it at home? Maybe a mound issue? Do all minor league levels use the pitch clock and Automated Strike Zone? Maybe that's a factor if not.
  18. That's enough to lose, we're not scoring more than 3R, not with our putrid offense.
  19. Ok CH not FB but it was still down the middle and straight.
  20. Wow, seriously? FB down the middle to Bellinger lol
  21. We can only hope. There's so many underperforming fat guys this season (Manoah, Vlad, Kirk, Barriera, etc) that it should be a wake up call for the FO to actually acknowledge the herd of elephants in the room, pun intended. These are professionals, blessed with the talent to get paid tons of money to play a fun sport. You have enough money to have personal chefs, dieticians and personal trainers to get in shape and stay in shape. And even if they aren't using their own money for this, the team needs to highly encourage the use of the performance complex which provides all of that. Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results.
  22. My guess is they placated to him or the players on the big league team who wanted him back with them. Either way, it wasn't beneficial to him. He did have that 1 good start vs Boston, so maybe that's not entirely true, that good start could have helped his confidence moving forward. That said, he needs extensive work on his body, his cardio, his spin rate and velo. His velo and spin has dipped every season since his debut, and he's young, so that shouldn't happen, unless his offseason work is causing issues.
  23. No more dangling the carrot please. The guy just needs some consistency and needs to work on his mechanics with the pitch clock and rack up whiffs on all his pitches. No more promise of big league starts until 2024.
