  1. You're just burying yourself with these posts. Outside of the last K (on his rising 4FB no less) he hit his spots.
  2. Absolutely. He's made a lot of great decisions since then. I think we're last in sacrifice bunt attempts for example.
  3. Eh? 7 K's. Care more about that. Good enough for a bump up.
  4. Waguespack has 9 K's through 3.2 IP
  5. Does it look authentic? What's the cost? And could you post a link? I'd like to get one made for Bichette.
  6. Maybe he meant command? That's one thing about Osuna; he has elite command.
  7. How so? Now that we've seen the ++, the return is great.
  8. Yep. Completely agree. They could be getting forced into the deal from Rogers though.
  9. Well, I mean Osuna was 3rd in reliever WAR last year, while Giles was 16th. Both great, but Osuna was only worse than Kimbrel and Jansen.
  10. We'll see but I'm worried the DV case could highly depleted the return. Will try and be optimistic.
  11. Pardinho's having a rough start so far tonight. 2 BB, 4 ER, 0 K, in 0.2 IP so far.
  12. Wonderful, though I kind of wish Bo was promoted with him.
  13. His walk rate is actually quite good in AAA this season. It's under league average.
  14. I think so. I can't wait. I know I'm the high man on Foley around these parts and believe he can become a #2 if continues to iron out his control, but I'm not alone; as those same predictions were written about him after his 2016 season. That said, I know 2017's struggles derailed him mightily to where 2018's success has him flying under the radar a bit. I just hope he can keep the same mindset a string together a few impressive starts down the stretch for us.
  15. Same. His swing & miss stuff is so fun to watch and I've been missing it on a staff that generally pitches to contact. On that note, it would nice if we could get a new pitching coach in the OS as well. Watching Houston fix so many pitchers and dial up their k-rates exponentially (Cole comes to mind) makes me wonder why the opposite tends to happen to our guys (Stroman Minors to Majors comes to mind). What makes you think that? Pannone is far inferior to SRF.
  16. I agree. I really hope we bring back JD so he can play DH/3B/1B in a rotation with Drury and Smoak until Vlad comes up. If Smoak is traded, JD moving to 1B would be great. I just want an MVP type vet here to help usher in Vlad and Bo. I feel it would be great to help them manage the pressure and fulfill their potential.
  17. Yeah. Seems about right. Would do a 1yr deal with Happ again if he'd sign with us, rather than Estrada. I think Foley has a strong 1st full season and proves to be our best SP. I feel we could see Pearson up by July 2019 as well if he comes back strong this season. Overall, I think 2020 is when we'll be able to compete.
  18. I'm hoping Morales gets his wRC+ high enough by EOS, that we actually are able to move him in the OS for whatever. I think our starting 9 and Bench going into 2019 will be below: SS Gurriel Jr 2B Travis 3B Drury 1B Smoak DH Rotational/Morales C Jansen CF Pillar LF Hernandez RF Grichuk Bench BU Martin IF Solarte IF Diaz 4th OF Smith / FA I expect Vladdy and Bichette to be up no later than July 2019, if they hold them down for that extra year. This will spell the end of 2 of Diaz/Travis/Solarte imo. Drury or LGJ would then take Bench roles with whomever is left, with the other starting at 2B. I'm really hoping Alford mashes AAA early next year and can come up as well. I also feel we could qualify JD and he may re-sign as a possibility.
  19. So when do you guys believe Foley gets the call? Could be any day now.
  20. WTF Shatkins? This is a terrible return.. I could be wrong, but would guys like Medina, Contreras and Garcia not be within asking price instead?
  21. I'd be more than happy with Contreras and Garcia as returns for Happ. I like them a lot.
  22. It definitely is. It's much more balanced as well. AA was very pitcher heavy in his drafting because his team couldn't develop position players for s***. I don't really care about the MLB roster mgmt too much until our big prospects start moving up. At that point, the decisions of Shatkins will be magnified imo. I agree that they may have been holding their cards too close, while risking value decline in Happ, JD, etc, but I'll see what they get for Happ at the deadline before I post too much on it.
  23. Does anyone have access to The Athletic? This Foley article from John Lott seems interesting: https://theathletic.com/437166/2018/07/19/for-blue-jays-prospect-sean-reid-foley-a-pep-talk-by-teammate-ryan-borucki-helped-him-turn-the-corner/
  24. Your sample size = 10 pitches on one game. My sample size = 10.64 K/9, 3.55 BB/9, 3.27 FIP in 104 IP between AA & AAA. Hell, his AAA is actually even better in isolation. In 59.2 IP; 10.71 K/9, 3.17 BB/9, 3.17 FIP So he's actually improved his walk rate against tougher competition.
