  1. We should send all of our top pitching prospects there each offseason. Could add some mphs on a bunch of guys' FBs and improve the spin rate on all breaking balls. Guys like Foley, Wag, Borucki, Thornton could do well with that. Then there's guys like Pardinho or Murray who could become animals if they sat mid 90s instead of low 90s.
  2. Not sure this has been posted yet, but this could explain Atkins' love for Fisher. I like what I read. https://maxssportingstudio.com/2019/08/01/fishing-for-the-most-underrated-prospect-dealt-at-the-deadline/

  4. And SWR is ending his season in Dunedin, so his stock could rise even more!
  5. Don't really want Larnach.
  6. It would piss me off so much, but I'd love to see that happen for Stroman. Hopefully it would mean Pete Walker and whomever else is responsible for Stro's low MLB K/9 would get the can.
  7. Random thoughts I've had for awhile; looking at Shane Bieber's fangraphs page ahead of today's game and I noticed that he was a guy who was an 8 K/9 arm throughout his entire minors career and comes up and is now an 11 K/9 arm. You see things like this all over the MLB now, especially with smart teams like Cleveland or Houston. Then you look at us, and often times pitchers trend worse when they're called up. Stroman being a 10 K/9 guy in the minors and being 6/7 K/9 in the majors is a decent example. I wonder how much of this can be tagged to the pitching coach, analytic translation, psychology, etc?
  8. Thanks man. This is great and really informative! Wonder if he's a good case for the Driveline program? Imagine what he'd be sitting low 90s instead of mid-high 80s?
  9. Thanks! Will give that a read.
  10. He certainly is. I may have missed it but has anyone here posted about his stuff? Blue Rocky maybe?
  11. Don't forget Captain Kirk, he ticks all those boxes as well.
  12. This is interesting. I wonder if the K's is due to a change in his pitch mix that he worked on in his time off or just an outlier?
  13. Maybe he was more in on Rutledge or Caroll and the "room" outvoted him? Who knows? I'm willing to give him a chance. Maybe the high performance team can help him shed the fat and build muscle to take its place. Guessing they like the velo, K%, BB%, and emotion. They love guys like Bichette, Stroman, & Gurriel who show tons, so they may see it as a willingness to compete and become the best?
  14. Agreed. The anti-fun/emotion crew can GTFO already. Same goes for Grichuk. I wonder how that went over in the clubhouse anyway.
  15. Yeah, hopefully he figures out a better put-away pitch to avoid that path.
  16. So I guess it is load management for Nate Pearson. Every other start seems to be 2 IP. Today: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 5 K, 1 BB, 39 pitches
  17. Just checked out Jimenez' numbers; the splits look so off. Looks like the big league lights are getting in his head. I wonder if it's similar with Jansen, who looks like a completely different player from last year.
  18. I wonder what's going on with Jansen's plate approach this season as well. 20 K% & 6 BB% are very out of the norm for him. At one point do those stabilize? He definitely doesn't look like what his peripherals suggested the past few seasons.
  19. Fair enough lol. Painful to watch. You'd think at least a few of the hot streaks would continue into the regular season though.
  20. This is pretty ridiculous. Our hitters looked pretty damn good in spring, overall, yet now look awful. I'm not sure what happened? All of them go cold at the same time lol. Maybe cold weather = cold hitting for these guys.
  21. Thought we had a pretty decent spring training, hitting wise, yet we're cold as ice out of the gate. What gives?
  22. Pillar on his way out next?
  23. Amazing! I wonder how much we needed to eat?
