    Not bad, I'll take it. His contact management brings those numbers to a #2 since his FIP will, likely, always be far higher than his ERA. If this kid can ever get average control of his stuff, not command, he could become elite.

    Maybe not yet, but when you're tossing 98% fastballs, the likelihood of them adjusting in-game is higher than if pitch calling is sufficiently mixed.

    Martin's the general out there, he has to get through to him, if that's the case. All he has to point to is the Tampa game.

    Perhaps, but Martin has a history since last season of calling far too many fastballs, so it's not like this is random thought. If Sanchez is saying that, then Martin has to approach the mound and talk him out of it. Once the timing is down, it's BABIP city unless more off-speed is used.

    I don't blame Sanchez for either of those hits. Martin's game calling has been very mediocre this game and awful the past couple innings.

    Maybe, but he had the timing figured out. If there was a better mix off OS and FBs, maybe that's a swinging strike. And just as a type this, Martin called "yet another" 2 strike fastball.

    Taking velocity off the FB is actually making it more difficult for Sanchez to control lol.
