  1. Not bad, I'll take it. His contact management brings those numbers to a #2 since his FIP will, likely, always be far higher than his ERA. If this kid can ever get average control of his stuff, not command, he could become elite.
  2. Someone's giving bad advise, whether it's Martin, Walker, or whomever.
  3. Maybe not yet, but when you're tossing 98% fastballs, the likelihood of them adjusting in-game is higher than if pitch calling is sufficiently mixed.
  4. There we go, beautiful pitch call and execution!
  5. Alright, perfect time for a CU.
  6. Damn, 1st hard hit ball for the Sox all night.
  7. If Martin doesn't start calling the off-speed, it will be BABIP city real soon.
  8. In the very least, it would mess up their timing.
  9. Martin's the general out there, he has to get through to him, if that's the case. All he has to point to is the Tampa game.
  10. Perhaps, but Martin has a history since last season of calling far too many fastballs, so it's not like this is random thought. If Sanchez is saying that, then Martin has to approach the mound and talk him out of it. Once the timing is down, it's BABIP city unless more off-speed is used.
  11. And how do you get comfortable with your change-up throwing it a total of once in this game?
  12. I don't blame Sanchez for either of those hits. Martin's game calling has been very mediocre this game and awful the past couple innings.
  13. Maybe, but he had the timing figured out. If there was a better mix off OS and FBs, maybe that's a swinging strike. And just as a type this, Martin called "yet another" 2 strike fastball.
  14. There we go, yet another FB and the no-hitter is gone.
  15. For f*** sake Martin, stop calling so many FBs.
  16. Why is Sanchez throwing slower when he still can't coral it? He should just throw his 96 and miss with that instead.
  17. Buck with the excellent "jinx".
  18. It's frustrating that Martin isn't calling the CU or CV more.
  19. Taking velocity off the FB is actually making it more difficult for Sanchez to control lol.
  20. The walks are back, two straight 3 BB games.
