  1. For sure man. I still feel sick watching those videos and comparing it to current Stroman.
  2. Dirk Hayhurst hates the sinker philosophy as well LOL. http://www.tsn.ca/radio/toronto-1050/hayhurst-jays-need-assurances-before-trading-key-pieces-1.511341 http://dirkhayhurst.com/2016/06/height-doesnt-measure-heart-but-it-does-measure/
  3. Well said. Someone, or several people, should tweet these to Stroman.
  4. Atkins on Stroman: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-concerned-stromans-struggles/ He says that Stroman "has done everything we've asked of him to try and improve". Does this mean he's getting bad advice, just not that good anymore, or it's mostly bad luck?
  5. That's the main reason I can't listen to him without falling asleep.
  6. Blair and Barker sound especially retarded on BC today. Barker said Stroman needs to throw MORE sinkers and less breaking balls lol. Blair just said Randy Wolf's season in AAA last season is comparable to Wade LeBlanc's this season lol.
  7. He's given up the most hard contact out of anyone in the MLB with 104 balls hit at 99mph or higher. xFIP won't tell you that, and it would be silly to chalk it all up to bad BABIP luck.
  8. Not sure that would happen. If he gets sent down it's probably accompanied by a directive to change his approach and pitch selection. People in the organization have been talking about the pitches he should be focusing on in interviews for awhile now, and I'd imagine if he's sent down it's to work on those primarily and monitor the results where it doesn't affect the big league team.
  9. I've heard mixed things on this. There's an article out there saying that his stretch in his delivery actually has his effective velo higher than his actual. I do wonder if his rigorous workout schedule took it's toll on his arms. Too much muscle can actually reduce velocity.
  10. Not sure I'd agree with that. Outside of 1 inning plus maybe 2 other PAs, he was still throwing far too much 2SM and throwing many of them in 0-2/1-2 counts and getting smashed for it, as per usual.
  11. The OPS on his 3 worst pitches this year are as follows: 2SM - .804 CH - .830 Cut - .892 The OPS on his 4SM fastball, Curve, and Slider: 4SM - .724 CU - .556 SL - .384 What this should tell everyone is obvious, Stroman should only throw the 4SM fastball and throw way more breaking balls.
  12. I think the biggest question is, what's the best way to get through to Stroman?
  13. Have a great Sunday night everyone, I'm out!
  14. Maybe, but he's been saying that type of BS for 2 years now. There's a distinct change in his pitch selection/usage, which can actually be tracked in brooksbaseball, when he's striking out a lot of batters in his starts compared to when he's "pitching to contact". I'm sure you watched him pitch a lot in 2014 and saw the clips of him in the minors, but he truly works like two completely different pitchers, when you compare that guy to 2015/2016 Stroman. It truly falls in line with the quotes the guy has said since late-2015.
  15. Stroman's been quoted as saying he'd rather be a sinkerball pitcher than strike guys out. And when we watch him toss 0-2/1-2 sinkers over and over again, it's pretty reasonable to draw the conclusion that he chooses not to try. We watched an inning in this game where he tried to and he looked absolutely dominant, it's all in his approach and pitch selection.
  16. Yeah, you're right. I guess I just get super frustrated because I actually really like Stroman, and I'm just super pissed because in every interview I read/see of him, it seems that he's deliberately doing things that run counter-productive to his vast potential. I want to vent about it, but I'm not going to call him a "waste of space" like some do, I just expect better, like some weird baseball fan father figure lol. And yeah, those jerseys were something nightmares are made of.
  17. IDGAF what annoys you, if you're that annoyed or perhaps enamored with my posts, maybe you should put me on ignore?
  18. One would think and hope, but they haven't yet.
  19. It's not like what I was saying was off the mark or anything. It's frustrating and pointing out easily correctable flaws in his approach, I would think, is more tolerable than trolling pessimism like "Stroman is horrendous and has no future" or "Stroman is Ricky Romero" when they are nothing alike. He got smashed. Plenty of two-strike 2SM turning into hard contact, you know, the usual.
  20. Shapiro and Atkins need to tell him, "you see how you pitched from 2012-2014? Go back to that guy, the guy who strikes out a lot of people and walks barely anyone. The longer you're not that guy, the longer you'll stay in AAA."
  21. Well he dominated Alvarez there!
  22. Ground balls for days guys, the sinker is working LOL.
