  1. He looks primed to call someone "boy".
  2. Varsho is just trash. He really can't help himself at all with those high FBs.
  3. It's amazing how much Atkins is failing at. AA has signed up all his young players to team friendly extensions, Atkins has only extended Berrios and Grichuk in his time here lol. He's failed to get Vladdy & Kirk to lose weight and fix their swings even with the best performance complex in the league. He's struggled developing pitching whether it be SPs or RPs. His pitching management decisions feeding into the clubhouse cost us games and make no sense to 100% of viewers and analysts.
  4. He's horrendous, but our terrible media team won't properly call him out for it post-game. This is two days in a row that his deployment of Cimber cost us the game and over-worked the BP for no reason at all.
  5. Schneider, you f***ing idiot.
  6. And even if this goes ok and Cimber gets out of it, you're wasting BP arms for no reason? Francis could have easily pitches another 2 innings.
  7. Francis said himself he's up to 80 pitches and Schneider takes him out at 30 to put him Mr Soft Contact.
  8. Exactly. This is two days in a row now where Schneider botched Cimber usage. You don't use a pitch-to-contact guy with a runner on 2nd and no outs in a tie game, and why would you take out a guy who can throw 80 pitches at 30 pitches in a game he's doing well in? It's over-management at its finest.
  9. Why bring in Cimber, Mr Pitch to Contact, with a runner on 2nd?
  10. Bass sucked but White was getting shelled hard in AAA lol. I guess you're replacing toxic junk with regular junk, so net positive?
  11. It's ok to admit Atkins made a mistake, he's only human.
  12. Put him on the 15 day IL, send him to the Dunedin complex to work with the dietician, conditioning, and with weighted balls, then start him in Low A, and work from there based on performance and underlying metrics (K/9, BB/9, Velo, Spin, etc) to earn promotions up each level.
  13. Honestly we should. We can't f*** up our BP the rest of the series. It's 4 games.
  14. He needs to a long IL stint and to go to Dunedin and work on his conditioning hardcore for a month straight, as well as weighted ball stuff, then start him in Single A and work from there.
  15. Wow! Thanks for that. If it's available, I'd love to see his Fly Ball % over that span. The AVG is up super high and the BABIP has to be the highest of his career, but his AVG is much higher than his BABIP still, fueled by Nukes no doubt. If the Fly Ball % is also the lowest in his career, maybe the BABIP change is more sustainable than pure luck.
  16. If he can get his AVG to be in that 220-240 range in the majors while keeping those splits, he could be a Max Muncy type with better D and more power. I'd sign up for that.
  17. What's his AVG over the past 3 weeks, when the other figures started to trend in better directions? If it's in the upper .200s, I would consider promoting him to AAA and hopefully letting him ride the hot streak and approach into a respectable BABIP and AVG. It could do wonders for his confidence to continue with this approach, and maybe finish his season strong to set up a great 3B option heading into Chapman's free agency.
  18. Nick Frasso in AA so far this season: https://www.fangraphs.com/players/nicholas-frasso/sa3014492/stats?position=P 6 GS, 26.2 IP, 12.15 K/9, 1.69 BB/9, 1.01 ERA, 1.92 FIP, 2.66 xFIP
  19. Bowden Francis will up to 80 pitches after his next start in AAA, and then he can come up and replace him and throw 100 pitches no problem. He's been electric in his 2 rehab starts so far as well.
  20. I doubt it. I think it's 100% the pitch clock combined with his cardio. If his cardio were great, he would have no problem meeting the 15 seconds and remaining in his mechanics. He's tired and can't do it, that's the issue.
  21. It's 100% the pitch clock and Manoah's cardio causing all of this. The guy would get exhaust last season and would take extra time walking around the mound to gather himself and talk to a himself to stay in his mechanics. He can't do any do that now so can't gather his breath and continuously falls out of his mechanics.
  22. The replacement is in house with James Click, so if he feels it's time, he can pull the trigger and not lose any time with processes.
  23. Yeah, I'm honestly really excited for him. He looks legit nasty. 1 more start and he should be around 80 pitches and then can justifiably switch places with Manoah.
