    If Romano and Swanson remain what they've shown they can be, and if Green can return and be the Green we've seen....AND if Pearson stays healthy and is able to become what we've all hoped he could become, then that's a wonderful 4 to start with. I've been as hard on the pen as anyone, but I would be really surprised if they couldn't cobble together another 4 to add to that that are effective and can get the job done more times than not. I'd love to see a lights out lefty added, but that's a deadline cherry on the sundae kind of piece.

    Put a bet on the Panthers to win. If the Leafs are gonna lose and make us sad, might as well get compensated financially.

    With Ryu's $20M coming off the books, that can go to Chappy. I'm sure there's a way to keep him. That said, if Boras is looking to squeeze every red cent available, there may be a team that's willing do something stupid...something that the Jays really shouldn't match.

    Panthers won the President's Trophy last season. No one should think this is a slam dunk series. They're a very good team when they're on.

    The Leafs have lost plenty of series to teams that weren't as good as them on paper...Carolina in 2002 (coached by Paul Maurice) comes to mind.

    I wanted the Bruins. I'm a very vengeful person and wanted to slay those f***ers. That said, Paul Maurice was Head Coach of Carolina when they beat the Leafs in 2002. I'm still sore about that s*** group winning and revenge is a dish best served cold....even if it is against just the coach.

    They were much greater than the sum of their parts. I've been looking at that team all season as very beatable and was hoping the Leafs would be the ones to do it.

    You got a taste of what it's like being a Leafs fan (if you subtract and cups over the past 50+ years) and multiply that my numerous first round failures over the past 19.
