    Leafs acquire Tomas Plekanec and Bobby Baun's grandson, plus the Habs retain half of what Plekanec is still owed for the season for a 2nd rounder, Rinat Valiev, and Kerby Rychel.

    The two studs will be cheap for years. I still fail to see what one has to do with the other. The goal is to add talent. JD will be expensive talent, Vladdy and Bo will be cheap talent. If the fear is term or dollars, because they're not sure JD will sustain his production for years to come than that's fine But letting someone walk because 2 prospects are almost ready really isn't a managerial strategy that I can envision being logical.

    Sorry. Didn't catch the sarcasm, as I know that Bautista was actually pretty good until this past season. But I thought Jose was older than he was. My bad.

    Ortiz had an OPS of over 1.000 at 40. He had 4 years of 1.000+ OPS from 30-40. Maybe not the best example to use.

    I mean, I guess anything is possible but I never really expected JD to sign here long term. I just hope he has a killer year so they can peddle him at the dealine for some good assets. That said, they'll probably be hovering around .500 and will be afraid to pull the trigger on moving him as not to alienate the fairweather fans...and might lose him for a draft pick. That's what being a lifetime fan of Toronto sports has done to my confidence level.

    Exactly. Those two were f***ing brutal. Especially Lawrie.

    Agreed. I think everyone has pretty much prefaced their opinion by saying that Stro is an excellent pitcher, but a miserable whiner. Can't understand why it's so difficult for people to seperate the two.
