    I don't think that's a fair statement necessarily. We have access to technology now that wasn't available before...so we can clearly see calls that are missed...whereas in years gone by, the eye test might have us believing that the ump was right. What's the answer? More instant replay or automated calls (strike/ball, safe/out, fair/foul)?

    But the "general shittiness" was being stated before any of his 3 outings. It was more like, 2 of his last 3 years have been pretty mediocre. His '14, '15, '17 were glorious. So he is a little Jekyll & Hyde-ish.

    Everyone knows that it's only one game. What's funny is that the 'shittiness' that some are saying Giles has an abundance of, showed up so early as a Blue Jay. Some see it as poetic justice even if it isn't reality. And conversely, those that think that Giles is every bit as good as Osuna can't post fast enough how it's only 1 game, to defuse the poor outing. The reality...Giles has tremendous physical ability.....looks like it's all mental with him. And yes, him being a gascan was funny. But only because this season has been a lost cause for a while so I look for things to laugh about.

    Most definitely. I'm sure they've already signed more than the 28 were aware of... They just haven't been announced. I do think they've spent the vast majority of their cap space though.

    Agreed. If this is the best place that this ownership could rustle up for Happ then that's a bit unfortunate... Hopefully they're able to turn him into something. I don't see him having a future here.

    You can only compare players to who they had to play against in their day. In 75 years Trout will look like a child compared to what players will be able to do then... That takes nothing away from his skills or accomplishments because he was the best of anyone in the world playing at that time, giving the facilities and opportunities given during his time... Just like Ruth was.
