I think that's the point. He says the players are not the game. And he's right. The game wouldn't just fold up tent and disappear. There would be replacements. Would there be a difference in level of play? Probably. But I don't think as many would notice as you think.
It does. But I felt like that last year too when we were regularly beating teams by 10, 15, 20 points and racking up easy wins.
Hope it's different this playoff season.
He's really not wrong though. But it's a hot take, and of course ball players who have had their dicks buffed by people their entire lives are gonna get bent out of shape over it.
Basically said if every baseball player quit tomorrow they could be replaced with others...and within 3 years, you wouldn't even notice a difference as new talent would rise to match what was left...of that's kind of the gist of it.
The Raps were really not good last night. 21 turnovers. Didn't share the ball nearly as much as they have been with only 17 assists... And they still got the win. It's great that they're able to overcome that sloppiness and get the W... Just hope they don't get cocky and think they can get away with that too often.
