It wasn't about options. It was about do you think he'd reached his full potential and where did you think his value was heading... Also what direction did you think the team was going in. If nowhere good is your company then you look to maximize whatever value you can for him as a defensive asset and find a replacement elsewhere even if it's a mediocre one. This team seems to fear selling high.

Yup. At this point I'd just as soon fire him out of a canon and into the sun as care about any sort of tangible return.
