They were always going to lose tonight. Back to back. They've been wildly inconsistent lately. And, it was tee'd up to be a letdown game after the big win last night.

Teams have adjusted to that cross pass by Marner and they've been crowding Matthews not giving him that shot...and the Leafs haven't adjusted with anything else.

Wouldn't that kinda make the more sense from a certain perspective? Pay while in the player is in his prime. Once age starts to set in it might be an easier contract to move if the actual dollars left are less of an albatross.

How often does everyone in a rotation play up to their potential? Not often. That said, I agree with Boxy...no way in f*** does this rotation turn into anything other than bad to mediocre (as a whole). Possibly a couple of solid individual contributions, but overall, it's gonna be a long season. -
