I've always seen Thornton as a good bullpen arm. A nice 2 pitch combo and he should be able to get a couple more ticks on the FB out of the pen... Maybe 96-97?

Anyone that is pissing away natural talent will be criticized. These guys are in the 1% of the 1%. I expect professionals to act like professionals. Now, I'm specifically talking about guys like Fatty Panda and the Fielder's. Those guys are just gluttons. Vladdy isn't in that group... And I sure hope he never ends up there. If Vladdy is putting in the work and genetics just aren't letting him morph into better shape then so be it... But fat f***ers eating pizza and drinking beer in the clubhouse... You deserve to be called out.

True from everything I've read. Rogers wanted to keep butts in the seats so they tried to create the illusion of a contending team even though anyone who knows anything knew they were on the way down. -
Based on the numbers that I'm seeing reported, the Jays would have gone overslot by $5000. One of the reported signings must be off by $5000.

Huh? Frasso signed for $90K under slot (the post literally above yours states that) and the draft was almost a month ago, not an immediate signing. Are you talking about Zach Britton? He was taken maybe a couple of rounds early so ya, he theoretically should've been in the $20K signing pile.

He'll be the Jays starting 2B in 2027 and will have an OPS of .782 that season.

If there's a way to improve his slider I'd say maybe add a bit more depth to it. It looked like a slider/cutter hybrid from what I had seen.

His arm is on the cusp of falling off. Just you watch.

It's around $6.9m with or without Frasso signing. It would go up or down based on what Frasso potentially signs for.

I think there's a 98% chance he'll sign. But in the back of my mind I'll always be prepared for something to go sideways. I guess it's just the Toronto fan in me. Hope for the best, but be prepared for possible disappointment.

That's a very logical point of view. And you're probably right. But would you really be completely shocked to see pure ego enter into this and drive the decision making process? I've conditioned myself to expect stupidity to factor in almost everywhere.
