FO seems to worry about the big picture to an obnoxious degree, the amount of impact a bad 3rd base coach and manager have on a team in the long run (over the course of a 162 games) is negligible - to non-existent.
It's also probably the reason we're watching Bergen start the game today followed by Milone, Bo not moving off short this year and Biggio getting a very long leash at third. the FO will not sacrifice ANY future flexibility for short term fixes . To them this is another developing year that they don't expect to win it all, I imagine trade deadline deals will match this feeling and be mostly underwhelming.
It's honestly results in a pretty poor viewing experience in the hopes that maybe everything lines up for this team perfectly and they turn into a juggernaut. That's not to say its a poor plan or that it isn't working it's just I would like a little bit more urgency as anything could happen to these young players. Removing Montoyo, his gremlin Rivera, and some other minor roster tweaks would prob result in a much better viewing experience for the more knowledgeable Jays fans, and the casuals, but the FO just doesn't care about these low impact moves.
