  1. I disagree for the most part. Baseball is a game of 1 v 1 matchups. The "buying in as a team" matters in the sense that guys have to be willing to sacrifice stats sometimes for the sake of the team, but in general, I'd take a team full of all stars who hate each other over a bunch of average players who are best friends.
  2. With things going so poorly right now for our BJ's its only a matter of time before reporters start asking questions about clubhouse chemistry. And I'm sure there are a lot of players not happy in the clubhouse right now. In the past our losing (such as last year specifically, leading us to bring in "clubhouse leaders" like Martin) has been attributed to poor clubhouse chemistry. I think its the other way around - losing is what leads to the bad clubhouse chemistry. Example: many of us thought Colby Rasmus was a problem in the clubhouse last year. He may have been - he seems to be a real weirdo, but he's still the same Cletus in the Astros clubhouse and they don't seem to have any issues right now. We may not have a room where everyone gets along. But neither does any other team in MLB. Every other team has latin players and their cliques, country whiteboys, etc. The thing is, when you are winning then none of that matters, everyone seems to get along, and reporters aren't asking dumb questions about clubhouse chemistry. When you are winning that weirdo Rasmus is hilarious because he's an oddball. When you are losing you can't stand being in a losing environment, especially with weirdo's like Rasmus. Cure the losing on this team, and you cure the clubhouse issues. Our losing will be is cured by pitching, not by curing clubhouse "issues" like we tried to do this offseason. In short - while getting Donaldson and Martin were great baseball moves, getting rid of Lind for Estrada because of "clubhouse" issues, was stupid. All of our decisions should be based on talent and talent alone. Win, and the chemistry will come.
  3. I hate how Hanley's helmet comes off every swing. Oh, thanks Panda you POS. Jesus!
  4. If we can hold on to this one, it would be nice to win one of these for once instead of being on the other end.
  5. was that Adam Lind's girlfriend standing in the crowd clapping just now?
  6. Chicago Cubs may have too many rooks, not enough vets. RF for RF, Bautista for Soler, who says no? Remember Soler is on a team friendly 9 year 30 million contract. The Jays are short on positional prospects, this would help address that. Or if the Cubs were really horny to win now, Bautista + Reyes+ cash for Starlin + Soler. I don't think they would do that deal though.
  7. I agree, but I don't this Alex sees this.
