  1. As embarrassing as Barry`s post game interviews may be, Zaun has just tried to justify a ALDS rotation of Price, Dickey and Estrada ..... WTF he must have taken too many foul balls off his noggin.
  2. He's back in the lineup
  3. I've not been on here long - so I don't know the entire history. IMO there is clearly fault on both sides.... o2 multiple banning isn't working or helping the situation. King overreacting to anything o2 posts that could be even slightly deemed offensive. As many claim, most can troll post and be a little unkind to others, I feel king reports a post from o2 that he would have thanked had Boxy posted it. Didn't we have this over the Chins and a telephone directory a couple of months ago. Maybe if o2 ignores king if he picks up on anything he posts, and doesn't use the ban button when things are escalating on the board but let someone else from the mod hottub deal with the issues. As with every dispute until both sides acknowledge their own misdeeds then an amicable solution is unlikely to be ever reached. If both sides dig in for the win then inevitably nobody does. These are the great times for Jays fans and yet its best messageboard descends to this. And yet we ridicule the O's hangout?
  4. I trust an All Star Veteran like Tulo to be more aware of his body and recovery status particularly given his history than a rookie on a new team like Travis... Wow when I read that back I sound just like Zaun but my point still stands. I would be more concerned if we hadn`t seen him on the field this early...... being rushed back would be no sign of him in warmups plus BP and his name on the lineup card next Tuesday, this gradual timeline and increase in his activities a week before the playoffs suggests to me an actual recovery rather than a hastily attempted one.
  5. If Pompey makes the playoff roster it will be to pinch run only - Gibby just doesn`t trust him. If he admitted to playing scared in regular season games then what will he be like in playoff games. Pompey has a lot of work ahead to regain that trust and if he does he could well flourish in the future but the club feels he`s just not ready.
  6. Hopefully we get the win but Cola will be needing some at bats soon especially if Smoak`s recent struggles continue. Cola has had 2 starts in 2 weeks, which would be fine if Smoak was producing but IMO that`s no longer the platoon, which served us so well in August and early September, it seems Gibby`s decided to go with Smoak almost exclusively since Tulo went down.
  7. Not at all, but given Smoak`s poor form of late and shocker on Wednesday night, it might be an ideal opportunity to play Cola and rest Smoak against their ace, our numbers against Archer are generally atrocious. Some semblence of past success might help.
  8. The last time we faced Archer we got 2 runs off him in 7 innings..... courtesy of a 2 run HR from Colabello but he rides the pine today.
  9. Why have you shaded the White and Red Sox from our line of magic numbers, in both cases the magic numbers are 1 and CWS hold the tiebreaker over us for WC1 and for WC2 plus the Red Sox we would need a single game tiebreaker in the unlikely event that they win out and we lose out. I know at this stage it is just nitpicking but later in the season it could well be misleading when teams start to clinch.
  10. What tiebreaker? there isn't one but if tied we would be playing at home for the decider.
  11. I agree on his upside, but he needs to stop playing scared at this level (or worse still, admitting it to the media), I'm pretty certain that's the reason he hasn't seen any action other than a pinch runner since his call up. He obviously needs to gain Gibby's trust before he feels comfortable putting him out there before even Carrera at the moment.
  12. Not a sure thing but they are looking at it, and to me it's a no brainer with no Argos, especially with a fragile but excellent shortstop playing on the infield for the next 5 years at a not insignificant $94m
  13. He is in the lineup
  14. If he signs an extension and keeps up some level of consistency then he could well become No.1. As Governator suggests let's get Doc up there in the level of excellence and see how well we do on this run before annointing anyone else. 3 more years of JD's MVP level play could put him in the mix soon enough too.
  15. Pillar's main issue on the basepaths is IMO he's never too far from a brain fart causing running errors like at the Mets and Mariners. He needs to learn to run with his head up.
  16. As a top level sportsman and competitor he strives to better himself each day but IMO there is no jealousy when a better player is helping him achieve HIS goal of winning. JD and Bautista compete together for their team to beat their opponents. Really I just don't get the Bautista attitude issue, he is desperate to win and Josh is helping him to do that.
  17. No Pompey starts for me, he can substitute for Bautista in a blowout games ..... he's not here because we need his bat. It wouldn't bother me if his role remained that of a pinch runner.
  18. Jealous? He's delighted that JD, TT and the other additions are here..... It is September and we lead the division playing meaningful baseball, he just wants to contribute and help us win. He gets mad when he has a bad game because he wants to contribute. So a big fat lonely old zero from me on the jealousy scale. Why do some folk want to peddle this myth when these are the good times.
  19. With Stroman you've got to get him in the rotation to see how ready he is. For me, Price and Stroman should work every 5 days roll the other four out in turn between Price and Stroman starts, longer rest will help them at this stage of the season particularly Buehrle, their results will determine who earns a place in the playoff rotation. If Stroman starts to struggle then by all means re-evaluate him but I believe you've got to give him every opportunity to make the playoff rotation, when 100% he would the No.2 guy.
  20. Looking good again tonight, every home game is now sold out for the remainder of the regular season
  21. They use these mobile grass growing light rigs http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3073/2620940258_7256569dc6.jpg
  22. A dirt infield is a must IMO, I said the day they traded for Tulo that if nothing else they needed to protect their investment in him. Opening and closing the roof quicker and the ability to open it when it is cooler would be huge too. There are materials that can change from opaque to clear like smart or switchable glass too if desired for the roof.
  23. I certainly suspect he would if he started in LF which is the main reason you pile the hate on for Bello
  24. They've both hit 12 this year but Smoak has 50+ fewer plate appearances. I aren't talking flyballs only.
