  1. He might've been trying to protect Springer but that was a horrible move
  2. I wonder if Yesavage is having a blister problem those splitters are awful
  3. You can't bunch up your lefties when you only have two in your lineup
  4. Even if we don't score a single run here, this is what beating the Dodgers looks like.
  5. I think Schneider sees a lot more time this series, and not just because there's more lefties. Their starters are elite but they are not workhorses at all. Our best shot is to wear down the SP with extended ABs and get to the lower leverage guys. Guys like Schneider and Lukes will be key I think. And ironically wearing down Ohtani as a pitcher may be the best way to slow him down as a batter.
  6. Really don't love asking Bo to worry about getting his timing back and not explode his knee while also playing out of position. You could literally have the identical lineup with Schneider at 2nd. Giving the medical staff and FO the benefit of the doubt here since most of their moves have worked this year.
  7. Definitely not the move I would have made, but I see the reasoning behind it. Pros: Gausman potentially gets 2 starts on long rest, and his heater usually pops after a break. Yesavage available for Game 7 (and maybe Game 6) out of the pen instead of Gausman which is probably more of a weapon Surprise factor to the Dodgers prep the night before Game 1 Cons: Starting Yesavage for a potential Game 5 in on the during the World Series with those LA fans is asking a lot, even for a poised young man. This isn't like pitching on the road against Tampa in a little league park. As of today Gausman is still our best SP, a handful of starts doesn't change that. If we get ran through in 5 games, we risk leaving him on the shelf without using him twice. Again, not the move I would make, but I love the balls the front office is showing here.
  8. You probably can't handle business today, but we 100% need to give Naylor 96 in the kidneys
  9. Hoffman is gonna be low 90s when he pitches tomorrow.
  10. Pitching around Clement to get to Barger is certainly a move
  11. This short homestand is more important to the Jays than to the Mariners. We will never see them this depleted again. If they take even 1 out of 2 they will have momentum going back home.
  12. Some food for thought: Nance had a bad 1/3 of an inning on Sunday. Outside of that he has been one of our best relievers for months. Yariel is the better pitcher, but only when you don't consider walks, strikeouts, home runs, and ground balls. Lauer absolutely smothered the Tigers when he started against them. He deserves a starting slot or major innings if it's the Tigers. If he's at game speed Bassitt should get a spot. Max isn't a horrible option if you protect him by starting him in the bigger opposing ballparks. And clearly nerves won't be a problem in any ballpark for Max. If Bichette is hobbled and limited to DH/pinch hitting it's hard to have a smooth functioning roster without IKF. If Bichette is back Santander might be the odd man out. Springer would have to play the field in that case anyways and Straw/Lukes/Schneider is plenty to cover the last spot. Just keep IKF's ass glued to the bench for defensive replacements where he belongs
  13. Dude injured his knee and got faster
  14. Third time through the order will be our shot I think
  15. Honestly this game isn't even that weird. Schneider has managed this way all season
  16. Today is Yesavage's throw day. He could throw an inning today and still be available for heavy work in Game 5. We have a lot of relievers who should be used before it gets to that. Schneider and Atkins are very set in their gameplan though, so if they want him tonight, we will see him tonight.
  17. I'm starting to wonder if the order to start IKF came from Atkins and Schneider used this as a justification to get Barger in there
  18. Frying Bednar's pitch count would really screw the Yankees tomorrow
