  1. This is absolutely the best scenario. Any transaction that make's our team better, and make's the Accountant cry, I am 100 percent for.
  2. You say this, like you know for a fact. I don't wish to open this up because I don't know for sure, we never will, nor does it matter. That being said, you don't think its possible that some of the "old time" player's, used things to gain an "advantage". Maybe a stimulant here or there, a greenie or something. I think there has to be at least the possibility considered. There may have been some player's doing whatever they could, to gain an advantage, since baseball was invented.
  3. http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/finding-pitching-sleepers-with-infield-fly-rate/ This helps with FIP beaters, I think. I'm not sure if a IFB component to calculation could be added, to our calculation.
  4. I think its awesome that you even know how to do this potentially. If it works even better. It would be nice if we could put together a math model for analyzing moves. What about fwar player has provided since transaction and also club record since transaction. I understand that club record has very limited dependence on any one particular player. Just something that would add to the discussion. With Prospects we could use a spreadsheet like AG put together last year. Utilizing numerous ranking sites to give an overall ranking of prospects.
  5. So you look like made an exceptional evaluation of talent if he succeeds. No one will remember who your 2017 31st prospect in the top 100 was if he doesn't.
  6. Yeah I admittedly got a little lazy, and just decided to put strikeout/defense for each of them. I will concede the draft pick is as influential as anything. Contact I guess would be the proper wart for Valbuena maybe. It is early and I'm cranky. I really don't know if there are more than normal or not. I would say that if all are unsigned by end of February, it may be strange. I honestly think that I would be content signing Holland. The rest I'm not real excited about. It depends on what kind of value you could sign them for. I would consider them all, at the right price.
  7. I put each reason I feel these players are not signed yet. I think there may be a trend emerging.
  8. I would be a little nervous if we decided to go with a "new" four outfielder starting lineup.....
  9. This is the statement of the day. I had a conversation last night with an old school farmer about this. He said the minute you stop worrying about things you can't control....the minute your life become's a million times better.
  10. No we need to medicate someone every time they get nervous. If the fans had their way we would have 75 million/year tied up in Edwin Encarnacion, Jose Bautista and David Price....until the end of 2021. That would have made me nervous.
  11. So you have to understand this is not necessarily a fix to "repair" partial tears in the sense you might think. I have to research more, but it seems that it is a re attachment and use of the new arthrex tape of the existing ligament to the bone. If the tear or partial tear is too far away from where it attaches to the bone; TJS will likely still be required. Point is, it would depend where Manaka's partial tear is, in respect to the bone, to make him a candidate.
  12. Can we say that Liam Hendriks was basically traded for Mike Bolsinger? Is that fair? If Lacava traded Hendriks for Chavez, then Atkins maybe made it not so bad, by trading Chavez for Bolsinger.
  13. I am going to go on a limb and say....its kind of their job to go free agent shopping and fill positions. I really highly doubt the reasoning was, can check that off before we get to the off-season. I think hedging against an inflation in the market in the off-season was the likely reason.
  14. I did my Clinical Biomechanics final project on TJS. This is an awesome post! Thank you.
  15. I am a little disappointed you hate my Reddit alter ego.....
  16. I can't answer that, I just saw the note about Freeman likely playing for Canada in the Rotoworld feed.
  17. Definitely great news for team Canada if we have Freeman at first for the WBC!
  18. So let me get this straight. You would rather pay Bautista 15 million to put up numbers likely somewhere between last year and 2015. (His strikeouts will go up).? If he plays the outfield, he's going to cost you 5-15 Runs? You would rather do that, then pay someone less money, to provide the same value. Oh and you wouldn't want Thor or Aaron Sanchez? Both were sandwich round picks. That being said, I would probably sign Bautista for 1-15, if he plays at least half the game's at DH, with Morales playing first.
  19. I'm guessing if we offered him $8 Million, today he's in Regina at a Pats game with Zeke.
  20. They can't sign anybody over $300,000 until July 2nd anyway. I'm really hoping this signing period or next we go full San Diego with an International haul.
  21. Reyes has an athletic 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame with long arms and saw his changeup sit in the high-80s with his fastball sitting at 96-100 mph. Ftfy
  22. ^This man. I have video from Game 5 of Texas, of my then almost 3 year old swinging a Blue Jays flag, going "Let's go Blue Jays, ch-ch....ch-ch-ch. Ten minutes later Jose hit his home run off Dyson. The trade for Cliff Pennington and every other move is part of that. Lugo could end up one day playing on a playoff team, maybe. Norris or Hoffman could win Cy Young's. I doubt it. Either way every Jays fan I know, knows where they were, when that home run was hit. The funny thing is, that of all the prospects they traded away, who saw Lugo being at the top of any prospect list? You are not wrong that it sucks a little, but is he in the top 15 of our list?
  23. Remember that game Cliff Pennington got thrown out from the bench...goodness that was a great playoff run.....
  24. Yes I certainly WOULD be depressed if I was a Diamondbacks fan. The front office (that no longer is around) left their team with Dawel Lugo as their number 2 prospect. Nothing against Lugo, he looks like he will be a decent player and all. I will be shocked if his power lasts outside Arizona minor league's.
  25. Interesting is not the word I would use. We got you less guaranteed money... but I got them to put this attendance clause in to make you extra money. Edwin's agent will not ever be mistaken for Scott Boras.
