You realise: 1. Both parties have to be interested for a FA signing to occur. 2. The team has an internal budget. You have to have money available to sign FA's. 3. Signing good FA's costs us draft picks.

I fail to see how acquiring depth in the offseason is going to be any different than acquiring it now - unless you're talking about signing free agents. You wanted him to get more depth in the offseason, which would have required trading someone.....now you say any deal is a bad deal. yur dubm

I never realised how old Hoffman is... Norris has the swing and miss stuff, but poor command/control, while it looks like Hoffman has good command/control, but not the swing and miss stuff.

Alex Gordon falls into the Ben Zobrist zone for me. Guys I look at and go "hrm, I wouldn't have thought they'd be the valuable". I guess it's the "all around - good at everything, great a nothing" syndrome that makes me overlook them. It's amazing this guy who was considered a "bust" early in his career could end up approaching 55-60 career WAR if he can sustain his current pace for 3-4 more years (before significant decline).

Not arguing with you - arguing with the stupidity of how they came up with a max of 35 votes. That is royally retarded. Alas - lets move on. The vast majority of fans don't have the knowledge to make educated votes - same thing happens in elections.

You know what prevents someone from voting 35 times in person? when that person has a life and couldn't be bothered voting once, let alone 35 times. Or how about a conscious that tells them they already voted once and stuffing the ballot box is wrong?

No - once per day is also stupid. You get 1 vote. That's it. I acknowledge they have no way of tracking votes by alternative sources and some nerd is going to find a loop hole - but why on earth would you set it up to allow/promote more than 1 vote per person? I say the general public is too stupid to make proper assessments and educated votes for the best players in MLB......and yes, I feel the same way about local, provincial and federal elections.

I've done stadium tours at Yankee Stadium, Fenway and Wrigley. Obviously all 3 are waaaaayyyyyyyy cooler and more interesting than Rogers Centre - but I must say I enjoyed the tour as much - if not more than the games themselves. I've never done the RC tour, but I suspect you'll find it interesting.

There's absolutely nothing to suggest he'll play over Carerra when he cools off. What a ridiculously stupid assumption. The Jays are riding the hot hand right now, while sacrificing some defense along the way. There's an extremely strong chance that Carerra's also "hot" right now and that he'll regress significantly if given everyday at bats.

I don't understand people on here sometimes... You're complaining about his defense? He's a first baseman who's been asked to play out of position - what did you expect? Would you s*** all over EE or Smoak if they drew the short straw and were stuck out there? Even after this obvious point has been made - people continue to say moronic things like "how do you like him, he plays the worst defense of all time". Stupid. Any why can't we just enjoy a hot streak for what it is? We all know the regression gods will hit him at some point....but no, no, that's not good enough, we have to point that out like 32 times in one thread.
