  1. If the Jays with their stacked offence and improved bullpen, start David Price in the wildcard game and lose, NO ONE blames AA, as good a shot as we could have hoped for.
  2. Well atleast we are set for the wildcard
  3. If this source is wrong at this point OMG
  4. Yeah that's a moot point given how far ahead they are already and how close we are to a wildcard.
  5. Point being, if you can extend him/negotiate with him, you are probably paying more (ala Dickey trade) both in prospects to Detroit and dollars to Price, so why not just go after him in FA.
  6. Yeah srsly, when was the last time a reporter who said the Jays were going hard after someone was correct? NEVER
  7. You'll know in a couple of years... TT looks good though.
  8. " On February 25, Saunders stepped on a sprinkler while shagging fly balls and tore his meniscus.[10] Initially, the expectation was for Saunders to be on the disabled list until the All-Star break, however after having surgery to remove 60% of his meniscus the estimate was reduced to 4-6 weeks.[11] He was assigned to the Advanced-A Dunedin Blue Jays for a rehab assignment on April 8.[12] After the Blue Jays lost 12–3 to the Tampa Bay Rays on April 24, Saunders was activated off the disabled list.[13] He experienced discomfort in his knee in early May, missing several games after having fluid drained and receiving a cortisone injection. Saunders returned to the line-up on May 9, but was placed on the 15-day disabled list the following day to rest his knee." -as per wiki What's the deal there? He opted for a temp fix so his injury wouldn't be career ending, came back and now is out again? Will he ever be truly back?
  9. Bautista ++ probably gets it done. Not worth it though
  10. I remember hoping we acquired Tulo or Altuve when we were looking for help at 2B before the season started knowing at the same time that it would never happen. Pretty crazy that it not only has happened, but was actually being discussed seriously back then.
  11. Yeah that's what I see too. To do that now though you lose Norris which makes no sense. Or we go after someone risky and regret it. Also if Sanchez isn't starting next yr, he's pretty much not getting out of the bullpen. I think he has shown enough to be starting. He'll be more prepared next year.
  12. That's what Oakland thought too when they traded Cespedes.
  13. As bad as the rotation is now, it will be very easy to fix in the winter. Could be a minor pickup before friday but Norris and Stroman ain't going nowhere. Stroman Hutch Sanchez Norris Estrada Osuna?? Buehrle?? 1 quality FA signing should be more than enough to fill out the rotation for next yr. If AA is to be fired in the offseason, there is nothing he can do (including Tulo) at this point to stop it...short of winning the World Series.
  14. No because the Bluejays did not dish out Tulo's contract.
  15. lol why not, at the very least it would piss off these reporters constantly asking about SP acquisition for the past 2 yrs
  16. George Ofman ‏@georgeofman 1h1 hour ago Chicago, IL Bluejays interested in either Samardzija or Quintana. Sox stand pat...for now. All these rumors...even if they are true but nothing gets done in the end like Carrasco, who cares.
  17. Who cares really, he just got traded last night what is the need to rush him into a game? Give him some time to tie up stuff and embrace Toronto as his new home.
  18. Well they tried to go after the right type of guy in Carrasco (good young pitcher under control) and it didn't get done. They have since lost 2 tradeable assets and AA just said it would be counter productive to trade from the core of regulars.
  19. No he basically said they would get a LF, CF, 1B before SP.
  20. I think this trade happened partly b/c Reyes was stinkin it up of late but also b/c AA knows first hand how hard it is to get middle infielders after looking for 2b for all that time (we got reallly lucky with Travis, Kinsler ended up helping us out in the end lol). Seeing how we traded Bareto, we have nobody coming up.
  21. Not any more
